What makes it fun
"When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore." According to legend, pizza was invented in Naples, Italy, in 1889 for Queen Margherita of Savoy. True Neapolitan pizza is distinguished by its distinct flavor, simple ingredients, and baking in a wood-fired oven. 1889 Pizza uses wood-fired ovens, San Marzano tomatoes for the sauce, and "00" Caputo flour for the dough to return pizza to its roots. Our pizzas are baked at over 1,000 degrees in copper-clad ovens, which results in a deliciously soft and chewy crust with a little char on the outside. 1889 Pizza strives to bring a high-end concept to Kansas City as quickly as possible, without sacrificing authenticity or flavor.
