    What makes it fun

The Alexander Majors House, built in 1856, was formerly the headquarters for Majors' overland shipping company, Russell, Majors & Waddell. Majors was essential in the west's opening, both through his freighting enterprise and as a co-owner of the Pony Express. Visitors will learn about his life and companies, as well as daily life for wealthy Missouri families in the nineteenth century.

We loved that we could have it inside the bard if it rained or outside if it was a nice day. We decided to have it on the lawn. We got married in Oct. The staff the day of was very nice and offered help with whatever we needed. And the price of the venue was reasonable for a weekday wedding. With all that said there were a few problems that you might want to know before concerning this lovely place.
    1. The lawn was covered with fake plastic flower petals and we have to clean up before we could even start setting up for our wedding.
    2. The Bridal suit was incredibly hot and even with only a few people in there we were sweating off our makeup. Not fun when you are the bride. They gave us a tiny fan but it didn't work and that was their only Solution.
    3. And finally we had to jump thru hoops to get your deposit back. We called and let them know we moved and gave them our new address. We were told they hadn't mailed it out yet and it would be sent to our new address. We got married on October 3rd and it's now December 11th and we still haven't got it. They owe us $450 and we can't get ahold of anyone. The venue was spotless when we left we even cleaned up after someone else's wedding before our wedding. To say the least we are more then a little upset. It shouldn't take 2 months for us to get our deposit back.
Lovely people and very helpful the day of but the management and communication is lacking.

There was a major hiccup during our wedding but I don’t believe this would be a reoccurring problem it just happened while it was my turn to be at the property. The venue is very beautiful on its own and the staff is very friendly and professional

Only went to the barn for a work function. Too small of a place for a Christmas party IMO.

Great self guided tour, use of QR codes to deliver media to your phone (and you can look at it later if you wish) Very well done

I had my wedding here and it was absolutely beautiful! The price was amazing and the staff will definitely work with you! The only frustrating thing was the clean up and having to put away all the chairs you rented on your own when they are rented out to you and put out for you at the beginning.

Our tour guide was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. The rooms include helpful exhibit boards with information on the family and time period.
