Mean Mule Distilling Co. creates agave spirits while honoring our heritage, doing our best, and looking ahead. We distill all of our spirits from 100% organic blue weber agave. We chose blue weber agave because we believe it presents the most difficulty and opportunity for us to demonstrate our originality, creativity, and work ethic. It's also a really cool plant with a narrative to tell. Our tasting room is a haven and a watering hole where we congregate in good spirits to taste our agave spirits. We don't believe our liquor will save the world, but we hope it will put you in good enough spirits to try.

THE best distiller in Kansas City. Probably the best (only?) agave distiller in the U.S. This place is my favorite spot to grab a drink in KC. Their spirits are fantastic and their cocktails are even better. They change menus seasonally and their drinks are always a hit. The staff is the friendliest i've ever met. Can't go wrong here.

Excellent tequila and the staff is very fun. They sell 750ml bottles of their tequila and 4 packs of the Paloma. It is a ‘must stop’ when you are in the Crossroads area. Plus, where else can you get a Scorpion Sucker? Yes, I am serious! Highly recommend!

One of our most frequented bars in KC for good reason. Incredible atmosphere, excellent quality and inventive, great drinks all-year long. We always have a great time at Mean Mule and highly recommend it!

They make booze out of agave syrup. Yes, the brown goo you see in the grocery store. It's like making "Corn whiskey" out of high fructose corn syrup.

But they act like they're making a product that is equivalent to tequila or mezcal. It would be sad if it wasn't so dishonest.

EDIT: I'm happy to share my DMs with the owners of Mean Mule. I've got nothing to hide, unlike them. If they're so transparent, why do they not clearly state on the labels that they're using industrial syrup?

Also, i got blocked for stating that $200 is way too much for their latest bottle and asking if they used wild yeast or pitched yeast in their new "pit roasted piñas" spirit.

I ALMOST hate to post this review in case this gem gets to busy all the time but man this distillery is excellent. Every single drink our table ordered was fresh and delicious - complex flavors that made your cocktail exciting. Staff was super friendly and circulated often so we never felt neglected. Cool vibe- very mid century Palm Springs. Love, love, love!

This place is by far one of the best bars in KC. They distill their own agave and gin, have fantastic cocktails, and the staff are outstanding. Don't miss this place. Support local businesses it really does matter.

The spirits and the vibe were perfect. The staff were attentive and easy to talk to. I had the flight, and all three spirits were very tasty! My girlfriend got the Apollo and we both enjoyed it as well! As my first time drinking “not-tequila” straight, I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. The smoky variety reminded me of whiskey, and was my favorite.
