This bridge is such a great little romantic spot! It’s clean and not crowded at all. My fiancé and I put our love lock on the bridge during the pandemic. We returned to the same spot in October 2022 and I proposed to my guy…he said yes! 🥰 Then November 12th, 2022 he proposed to me at our home. Now we are considering exchanging our vows at the same spot on the Love Locks Bridge in the near future! 💍❤️
This red bridge is a neat little sightseeing destination that I don't believe many people are aware of. My sisters-in-law have lived in Kansas City for many years, and they had never heard of it. It was very interesting to see all the different kinds, colors, and sizes of locks that people have brought from all over, to forever be linked to this bridge. There is a beautifully groomed little park and stream adjacent to the bridge, and it is such a peaceful setting. When we arrived, a small group was celebrating what seemed to be a birthday party on the bridge. I thought that was a creative idea, although it made it hard for me to take pictures. Before going, we made sure to go to a hardware store and purchase a lock and a permanent marker. We bought a flat (easier to write on) gold lock with keys. Make sure you get one with keys so you can toss one in the key box there at the bridge. We also got a black permanent marker and wrote our names and the day's date, so we know how long it's been there should we ever go back for another visit. It was a fun little quirky adventure like the gum wall in WA or the license plate tower in UT. Oh, and it's free!
Cute little experience! My husband & I have been meaning to come & place our lock on the old bridge and finally got a chance to last weekend. The area was clean & no one else was on the bridge except us. There were people underneath swimming/canoeing. It's easy to get to & has a sidewalk leading up to it. There's a box for you to place your keys vs throwing them in the water, thought that was cool
Great little romantic get away. Go lock your love away. My wife and I put a lock away on this bridge about 5 years ago (on 8-14-16) and still can’t find the lock till this day. So if you do, remember your location if you want to go back to see it again because plenty of locks are added all the time
