What makes it fun
Richard Hunt sculpted the Spirit of Freedom Fountain as a tribute to the contributions of African-Americans in Kansas City. A 5,000-pound metallic free form sculpture sits on a pedestal in the middle of an elliptical-shaped retaining pool with raised platforms that support the sculpture. Water pours from the platform's base, and there are six clusters of water jets in the basin's interior.
