I love this museum. I go every chance I get! I visit different areas each time because there is so much to see. I bring headphones and use the Smartify app to learn more!

This is a huge display of tons of differnt history as well as art. And the best part is it's free, although they do ask for donations which are optional. I would plan to spend at least a long afternoon of you plan on seeing everything. I will say as a negative they "security" isn't very knowledgeable regarding some of the art, if you happen to want to ask additional questions.

There are tons of stuff to look at. This place is MASSIVE to a point halfway thru we had to have lunch there. This was my first visit to a legitimate art museum, and I had a great time. Sculptures, paintings, and furniture - there's so much. Enjoy

It was an amazing morning that took me by surprise and it was all due to my beautiful and loving daughter and granddaughter who took me to see all of the wonderful arts in there very special to me and I will never forget it?

Enough for multiple and regular visits. Attended a live musical performance that was equally amazing.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum is one of the best in the country. The original (c1933) beaux-arts building itself is quite impressive-a massive structure with a reflecting pool on one side and huge terraced lawn on the other and a remarkably huge brown marbled column entry lobby . The Chinese art collection is unsurpassed outside of China and the impressionist collection is extensive and wonderful. Most every region and artistic period are well represented in the collection. The museum is free, but non-members will need to get free online entry time tickets. There is even an on-sight putt-putt golf course. Highly recommended!

Incredible and fantastic! Could not recommend more, 10 out 10. We literally just went to the Louvre and I enjoyed it here more. Not crowded, cool and refreshing air-conditioning. Beautiful artwork, wonderfully displayed. I felt like I got to go to a private section of the Louvre. Had I not gone I would have no idea how nice it was, we went across the world to see the thinker, when you had a copy right here, just a few states away!!! The glass maze was fun. Our son enjoyed the scavenger hunt, he puts on the pin he won on each shirt wears each day.

Love this little place! Came here for the first time about five years ago when my husband and I visited KC for our second anniversary, so it holds a special place in my heart. Went back with my sister and it was very good! It’s been many years so the menu has changed, but it was still good. We just snacked and got the Brie, devilled eggs, and mussels and a bottle of sparkling for happy hour.

Our server was very sweet, we got there about 5:50 and happy hour ended at six. No one came over to our table before 6pm (I almost got up and went to the bar myself). She finally came over right after it turned six. Asked for our drinks, and I inquired if we could still do the happy hour pricing on our drinks because no one came to our table for at least 10 minutes. She was hesitant at first but then said on our first round we could do happy hour pricing. It was very kind of her and I’ll remember that.

It’s such a cozy, romantic atmosphere and they have a small patio as well. Definitely will come back next time I’m in KC!

I absolutely love this place. Most of the galleries are free to the public and the exhibits that require a fee are very moderately priced. Nelson has one of the most significant art of Asia exhibits in the United States. In fact, many of the specimens here in the Nelson are shown in my Art of East Asia Art History text book for my BFA. This place has a fun little Egyptian art exhibit with a crusty old mummy which I must say is very well preserved and the display is exquisite. The restaurant has high quality foods at relatively affordable prices. You could spend a whole day here if you wanted. The sculpture yard is a good place to have a picnic on a warmer day and overall I’d just highly recommend you check out the Nelson Atkins.
