For any first dance for your wedding see Sydney! She choreographed our first dance for our wedding and it was every thing we could have hoped for and more. We came in unsure, and finished with a polished dance to feel proud about! They also made us feel like part of the dance troup. We always felt so supported, loved, and valued here as a LGBTQ couple. We took about 15 classes and kept practicing. We did it!! We nailed that first dance and could not be more proud. I am so excited to go back! They offer other dancing styles and dancing nights out! Big shout out to SYDNEY! Thank you!

My now husband and I really wanted to do something special for the first dance at our wedding. We have ZERO formal dance experience, and while we were excited about the prospect of taking dance lessons, we were also a little concerned we'd feel awkward - like fish out of water. Enter Arthur Murray Dance Studio and our instructor Aaron.

Aaron was an ABSOLUTE delight, and I cannot say enough good things about him!! He is super fun, patient, encouraging, and has a great sense of humor. He personally choreographed a beautiful dance to our song and made the whole process so much fun. He taught us our dance in small segments, adding something new each lesson so we were never overwhelmed. Before we knew it, we were actually DANCING! Honestly, every lesson felt like hanging out with a new friend who also happens to be a super-talented dancer, choreographer and teacher.

By the time of our wedding, we had a dance we were proud of and that our guests loved! And side benefit? It was a great cooperative project for us to work on together in those stressful weeks before the wedding. If you’ve EVER thought about taking dance lessons — whether you’re prepping for an event or just looking to try something new — do it. And definitely request Aaron. He’s the best!!

We found Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Lenexa when we were looking to get some help for our first dance before our wedding. From our consultation to our final lesson, we loved every experience. The entire staff was welcoming and friendly and the studio environment was very comfortable, even for a few newbies. We worked with Rachel who choreographed a dance to a song we chose. She was wonderful and we enjoyed spending our weeknights with her. Our last session we worked with Sydney who was also incredible and helped polish a few final things for us. We definitely recommend checking out Arthur Murray!

Our experience at Arthur Murray has been incredible! We are so grateful to have learned our first wedding dance here. Our instructor Aaron has been amazing to work with - He is incredibly kind and has met us at our experience level with much patience and grace along the way. We are beyond grateful to Aaron and Sidney for helping choreograph our first dance for our wedding. From the very beginning, they were kind, patient, and incredibly encouraging—even when Ty and I felt like we had two left feet.

The final result? Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Our dance was one of the most memorable parts of the day.

My husband and I are both not dancers and were very uncomfortable with the thought of everyone watching us during our first dance. We took a shot with Arthur Murray hoping to just learn a few moves to feel more comfortable during our dance. Rachel was our instructor and she created a beautiful choreographed dance. We worked with both her and Aaron the most during our lessons. All of the moves within the dance matched our skill level which increased our confidence. We originally started with 8 lessons and ended up adding 2 more to feel more confident with the dance. We are so pleased and glad we did this! It created beautiful photos and everyone was so shocked during our reception. Thank you so much Rachel and Aaron!

I just wanted to share how much I appreciate the dance instructors at Arthur Murray. They are absolutely amazing at what they do! I have some difficulty with hearing, and wearing hearing aids can make social situations challenging for me. However, being able to learn from such skilled professionals at Arthur Murray has really boosted my confidence. I am not only learning how to lead a dance, but also picked up some valuable dance etiquette. I truly believe that every young adult should experience the joy of learning to dance at Arthur Murray. It's a skill that's worth having!

I can not say enough positive things about this place and these people! My husband surprised me with an introductory lesson gift certificate for Christmas... and here we are, 2 years later, going to Arthur Murray for dance lessons every week! All levels of skill are welcome, and the environment is non judgemental and so much fun. We came in with very little dance experience (and questionable rhythm) wanting to feel comfortable dancing in social situations. We achieved that, but so much more. As recent empty nesters, dancing turned into a great way to reconnect, and much more fun than therapy 🤣

The instructors are not only knowledgable, professional, and patient, they are exceptional people! They have made the experience so enjoyable with their upbeat and encouraging attitude. In a world of so much negativity, the positive vibe of Arthur Murray is so refreshing. I would give 10/10 if it was an option.

Best Decision We Ever Made! This is the absolute best place to go to learn to dance in the Kansas City area. My husband and I have been taking lessons for eight years. I had limited dance experience and my husband had none (including no rhythm at all). We now enjoy dancing whenever the opportunity arises. The instructors are knowledgeable, encouraging and create a welcoming environment. If you want to learn to dance, we highly recommend Arthur Murray of Kansas City.

It’s a cash grab. We paid for 5 sessions to learn a dance for our wedding- they taught us half the dance & wanted us to pay extra for more classes to finish it. For what we paid, we should’ve learned TWO dances. This place is a joke, save your money & learn for free on YouTube at home.

Arthur Murray is the best for anyone looking choreograph a dance for a wedding!! Everyone is so nice and knowledgeable. We had Kaitlyn most of the time and she is incredible! She’s so kind, open to feedback, keeps things fun, and just makes you feel comfortable through the entire process. We would look forward to our lesson each week!!!

My husband and I did dance lessons for our Wedding First Dace. (Our song was Can’t Take My Eyes Off You Frankie Valli). Connor and Kaitlyn were amazing instructors. They choreographed a full dance for us. They made us comfortable and confident with dancing. Connor and Kaitlyn even started a love of dancing for my husband and I. For the day of, we were stress free and had such a wonderful time knowing our routine for our First Dance.

My husband also did lessons with his Mom for their first. (Their song was Simple Man Lynyrd Skynyrd). Again Connor and Kaitlyn were amazing instructors and choreographed the full dance. They made my mother-in-law feel confident and she had such a fun time with her son.

Fun date night and will be back for group classes!

3 months ago I knew nothing about dancing and almost went home before walking into my first lesson — I’m glad I didn’t.

The staff at Arthur Murray got me hooked quick, they’re patient and supportive to anyone at all levels which is exactly what I needed. Monica has done an amazing job of putting together a team that is more of a family.

My instructors Rachel and Kaitlyn are amazing at what they do and have helped me discover a love for something I never thought I would do in my life. If you’re considering taking dance lessons there is NO place better than Arthur Murray. Can’t wait to see how far I can go with them.

We really enjoyed our experience! We are getting married in a few weeks and we feel confident in our first dance thanks to Arthur Murray. We did 6 classes and it was perfect for us. We learned how to actually dance, spin and dip. Perfect for our first dance. All the instructors are great and easy to work with. We had Aaron for a few of our lessons and he was really helpful with the details of our dance.

My wife and I decided we'd like to have more of a structure to our first dance at our wedding versus just swaying back and forth for a few minutes. We had no idea where to begin, but luckily we stumbled upon this studio in downtown Lenexa. Aaron, Connor, & Katelyn (sorry if I misspelled names!) were our instructors over the course of 6 class sessions, and they did a fantastic job coaching us through a structured dance to "Anyone" by Justin Bieber. We came in with zero professional dance experience, but their team helped to build our confidence over the course of a few weeks. In the end, we felt comfortable performing in front of our family and friends at our reception and had a great time doing it. We have yet to take advantage of the free group sessions included in with our package, but we will look to come back soon!

I began in January 2021, with the 6 introductory classes. After the introductory classes, you're in the Bronze I class. Each week you have the option of a private lesson, a group lesson and on Fridays, there's a practice session where all levels meet and you can practice what you've learned.

This wasn't in my skill set. The instructors are ridiculously patient as well as attractive. The patience was and still is, needed and appreciated.

What have I learned so far? The basics and beyond for many of the following dances: 1. Foxtrot; 2. Tango; 3. Waltz; 4. Rumba; 5. Cha Cha; 6. Tripple Time Swing; 7. Single Time Swing (Jitterbug); 8. West Coast swing; 9. Bachata; 10. Salsa; 11. Merengue; 12. Samba; 13. Two step; 14. Nightclub two step; 15. Hustle; 16. Syncopated Hustle; and 17. the Polka!

I've learned dancing terms and how to do them. Most importantly, I've learned that as you progress, the learning gets easier. They actually tell you this in the beginning. For me, it was very, extremely, difficult starting with only a bit of desire. Now, it's only very difficult to learn new dances and/or techniques with flourishes.

Your results will vary, but that's ok, because they're marvelously flexible and patient. Schedule what you want and they'll make it happen.

I've been out dancing and been told, "You know how to dance," by strangers, which is funny, because I know more than those who don't dance, but compared to those who do, there is so much to learn.

I am thrilled I chose Arthur Murray of Lenexa. Originally I chose it because they offered a wider range of dances than most other studios in the area. But now I'm hooked because I LOVE LOVE LOVE my instructors! They really take the time to learn what your goal is (whether you just want to learn to try something new, or for exercise, or in my case--to compete in competitions), and tailor your lessons to that goal. I like that they encourage a mix of private lessons, group lessons and practice parties because as I've learned, you really become a better dancer by going to all 3.

The camaraderie amongst all the students is such a plus. We practice together before/after classes, and you'll get people you don't even know encouraging you.

And did I mention I LOVE my instructors? From day 1, all of them are so excited to see you. They're always full of encouragement and high-fives. I have no idea how they remember everything about my schedule, because honestly, sometimes I don't always remember. They even got me a birthday card, even though I had only been there for a few weeks. Each instructor is so full of exuberance and laughs that the time flies by.

It's because of these guys that at my first competition ever in Vegas, I recently won the Top Student award and placed 3rd in the All-Around.

Amy, Monica, Tavier, Darren, Katherine and Jackson--you guys are the real reason I keep coming. The dancing is just a bonus.
