    What makes it fun

Ceramic Caf is a Kansas City-based paint-your-own-pottery and glass fusing studio. Our amazing Creative Assistants will walk you through the creative process, teaching you how supplies and techniques may aid the inspired as well as those who need a little additional inspiration to produce a masterpiece they can be proud of! "Ceramic therapy for the soul" is provided by Ceramic Caf . Ceramic Cafe is a place where individuals can come to celebrate and explore their creative side, and I consider myself fortunate to be a part of that experience here at the studio.

I would give 0 if I could. I’m so discouraged. My girlfriend and I went for a date night on a Saturday and had never been there we painted coffee mugs. We spent 4 hours or more painting these mugs. We got a call that they had dropped my girlfriend’s mug. They offered to refund or repaint. So later that week we went by to repaint her mug at no charge. At which time I decided to paint another mug. We couldn’t finish before they closed so we took home some paint. We pack up and realize that my mug was also chipped. They offered to refire it for no charge. We said okay. We came back another day and finished painting in the shop( didn’t get time at home and didn’t have brushes. Nor did they send any home with us.) So we left the 3 mugs for them. A refire, a re paint. And a new mug. We get a call that my first mug that they were refiring broke during the refiring process however they aren’t offering a refund only to repaint it. At this point we have been here 3 times since our first time to fix the mug from our first visit. Now both mugs from our Very first experience with this place are gone. And we aren’t getting offered a refund. No at this point I don’t trust this place to refire or handle my piece that I pay over $40 dollars for and spend more than 4 hours painting. At this point we’ll have been here 3 times painted 4 Mugs spent over $145 dollars and only gone home with 2 Mugs. This is RIDICULOUS! It was our first time here and we haven’t had a successful piece come out yet!

Do not go here! They will throw away your purchased pottery! That’s theft and unethical!

My wife brought me here for date night. Honestly, this isn't really my thing.

My wife enjoyed it, and I think my kids would probably enjoy this place. I painted a mug 1 solid color, but my wife made a pretty good one.

This place is a good family place to enjoy. It's definitely a fun place for a rainy day or hot or cold day for fun inside.

I'd definitely recommend this place if you enjoy art.

Very nice staff. They were helpful and explained the process well. Not quite what I expected though. I made an assumption that the items were poured and molded locally/onsite, but they were stamped "made in China". Was also looking for some seasonal/holiday items (specifically Halloween) which were not available, but as I visited in the summer, it may have just been the wrong tiime.

I have been visiting Ceramic Cafe regularly for nearly 20 years. Sara and Katherine are absolutely incredible, and their whole team is knowledgeable and kind. Every time I go in the shop, they greet me warmly and offer to share new techniques. The whole store is set up around giving the customer as much creative flexibility as possible, with all sorts of ideas and creative aids available, from lace stamping and detail bottles to turn-tables and speckle paint options. Here are photos of the items I've made at Ceramic Cafe in the last 5-10 years. The staff is phenomenal with kids, quick to correct any issues, and they consistently ensure I leave with something I'm proud of. This place is worth the trip - really feels like family.

So much fun! There are a lot of choices of what to paint, and the staff are knowledgeable and helpful while also staying pretty hands-off to let you do your own thing. They glaze the piece once you're done and you can pick it up a few days later. I painted the turtle pictured here (his name is Claudio), but they have dishes and other useful items to paint too. They are called a Cafe but there is no food or drink for sale. You can bring a drink in; not sure about food.

My girlfriend and I went here the Saturday before valentines day and it was super fun and extremely busy. I’m crediting the busy nature to the fact that it was a holiday weekend/the place being genuinely awesome. They have a wide assortment of pieces to choose from with prices $10 - $100. Also there’s no fee for sitting down and decorating the piece! I did ceramics in college and it’s honestly incredible that they make it so cheap for people to walk in and use their supplies.
