Visited Char Bar-Westport for the first time today and the food was fantastic! We arrived just after they opened for lunch and it was surprising to see almost nobody in the place, but we will definitely be back! Between three of us, we had the Burnt Heaven, Brown Bag Special, and Triple Crown sandwiches and all of them were great.

Great spot to eat with great service. They have an outside eating area with yard games. Would recommend to anyone to try it!

This is a hidden gem in Kansas City. I thought I had been to all the BBQ places but I had not been here before. They make great BBQ and have great atmosphere in the restaurant.

The Whomp! Platter is the selection of all barbecue smoked meats and it feeds at least 3 people. The broccoli bacon salad tastes great. Potato salad is so delicious and creamy.It is one of the best in KC, if you wanna try a wonderful barbecue restaurant with a good quality and beautiful design.They also have outdoor seating, and a spacious indoor dining area.You can choose from different beer options. Mango cart is recommended.The staff are very friendly, and even the manager checks on every table every once in a while to make sure everything is alright.

We’ve always loved Char Bar but haven’t been for a few years. Came through KC today and wanted to have lunch somewhere that would accommodate us with our dog since we are traveling.Our server, Joe B, did a fabulous job dealing with our chaos as we tried to feed and manage a baby, toddler and pup. We were impressed and thankful at how quickly the food came out.Their brown bag lunch special was a pretty good deal. We each had a burnt end sandwich—delicious. We like their BBQ sauce, but it is very much on the sweet side. The spicy sauce wasn’t very spicy. Regular and sweet potato fries were great. The broccoli/bacon side, not so much. Beans were pretty good. Our daughter’s Turkey sandwich from the kids meal looked the same as an adult size, so we helped her eat it, and it was also delicious.The highlight of this place is the outdoor patio scene for sure. We loved it and will be back next time we pass through!

Great food, great atmosphere, nice staff! Love the outdoor area with yard games! Pretty unique! The wings were worth every penny, didn't need any ranch or any extra sauce in my opinion. One of the best wings I've had! The sandwich was also very tasty, wish it would of came with fries instead of being extra but oh well it's only money
