I came to 1587 Prime expecting a luxury steakhouse experience. Unfortunately, the execution simply didn't justify the premium pricing.
The filet was the highlight of the meal, but it arrived only lukewarm. The salmon was flavorless, the chicken tasted like lower quality meat, and the mashed potatoes were overly buttery to the point of being oily. Overall, I would honestly rate the food below Texas Roadhouse, which is a difficult comparison to make considering the significant difference in price.
The menu includes both Snake River Farms American Wagyu and authentic Japanese A5 Wagyu from Kagoshima Prefecture, which I appreciate. My disappointment wasn't with the menu offerings, but with the execution of the meal I was served.
The atmosphere also missed the mark. The "Trophy Room" is filled with trophies that appear artificial, making it feel more like a themed restaurant than an authentic high end steakhouse. The commercial china and flatware are perfectly functional, but they don't reinforce the luxury experience the restaurant is trying to create.
The live music was enjoyable, but the performer repeatedly walked around the dining room singing directly to individual tables with a microphone. In my opinion, that's more appropriate for a show than a fine dining restaurant. Live music should enhance the ambiance, not become the entertainment while guests are trying to enjoy dinner and conversation.
For the prices being charged, every detail matters. Food quality, temperature, atmosphere, presentation, and service should all come together to create a memorable experience. Unfortunately, they didn't.
