I was first introduced to Christopher Elbow Chocolates a few Christmases ago when a client sent me a box as a gift. My first thought was that these might be some of the prettiest chocolates I had ever seen—and thankfully, they taste just as good as they look! When my husband and I started planning a trip to Kansas City, I discovered that Christopher Elbow Chocolates is based here AND that they offer a Chocolate Experience where you can learn about chocolate, their process and the company. At $20 per person for about 50 minutes, it sounded like a fun addition to our day. Hands down, it was worth it! We went on a Thursday and happened to be the only two people booked for our experience, so it almost felt like our own private chocolate tour. We met the manager, who was incredibly friendly, and honestly everyone we interacted with was welcoming and helpful. During the experience, we got to try drinking chocolate, melted chocolate and a salted caramel chocolate treat—and every single one was incredible. The presentation itself was very thorough, with beautiful photos and examples throughout. We learned a lot about chocolate, their process and the company, and they took the time to answer all of our questions. If you love chocolate, the Chocolate Experience is absolutely worth adding to your Kansas City itinerary. You get to learn about chocolate, taste some delicious samples and then, of course, shop for chocolates afterward. We definitely didn’t leave empty-handed! It’s a great place to pick up something for yourself or bring home a beautiful (and delicious!) gift for family and friends.

This is quite possibly the best chocolate I have ever had. My husbands work gifted us a set for the holidays. We have been all over Europe and enjoyed this more than the best chocolatier in Belgium. I have to say though, with such incredible complexity and creativity in the chocolate flavors, why the super simple name? Christopher Elbow does not at all make me think of this wildly seductive tasting chocolate. Not one is overly sugary, the textures are perfection and it might be the one thing I’ll look forward to visiting in Kansas. :). Superb job. -sincerely, a Florida chocolate snob.

Best chocolates in America! We have tried chocolates all around the USA and the world. These are definitely up there with the best in the US. These flavours and presentation are second to none. We started buying them when they were in the back of a furniture store. The price is getting a bit high, tho.

In love with my Advent calendar! It's beautiful and the chocolates are packaged perfectly to stay fresh in individual bags. And the chocolates are so delicious. Clearly high quality with amazing flavor combinations. Will order again for sure!

I gotta admit my significant other and I were having a bad black Friday. Arguing a lot. Went to Christopher elbow to make an advent kinda style box for xmas. The girl was so helpful and patient. The experience turned the day around for us. We got a 48 piece, but picked each flavor we wanted in pairs. Delicious chocolate. Worth the money.

I would love to know if they have amazing hot chocolate but was denied service because they were cleaning up. Arrived at 5:53, they close at 6. I worked in coffee and closing down the steamer early is a gamble and customers sometimes come in close to close. It does suck, but it's a minor inconvenience. In fact, it's your job. Was really looking forward to an artisan hot chocolate with my kids to go look at Christmas Lights.

I’m from Kansas City but live in Florida now and it’s so nice to be able to order and receive the chocolates with no melting whatsoever. They package them so regardless of the weather my chocolates are fresh.

One of my clients brought me the 48 count box as a gift. These chocolates were so beautiful and unique that I couldn't bring myself to destroying one by eating it for the first day. By the second day, I couldn't resist and ate four or five. On the third day, I am ashamed to say that I finished off the entire box. The flavors were so decadent and also unique. I especially loved the raspberry ganache and the aztec spice. If you want to impress someone who loves chocolates, this is the place to buy them. I highly recommend based on appearance and taste.

Best chocolate you’ll have. We’ve purchased Elbow chocolates before but never from their actual storefront. The staff were warm, inviting, and helpful. The options were overwhelming but we chose a box of six and two of the premade winter boxes. Their chocolate covered almonds are to die for. Definitely come here for a stop if you’re in the area, it’s so worth it!

These little works of art are SO delicious!! Located in the arts district of KC it's a must to stop in when exploring the area. So many unique flavors to pick from and the employees are friendly and knowledgeable about the processes of creating these gems. They even let me sample one of the flavors that I was interested in. Makes a perfect gift for loved ones!
