What makes it fun
There are four renowned shuttlecocks in the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park collection, as well as recent additions by Roxy Paine and Robert Morris. The Modern Sculpture Project of the Hall Family Foundation began in 1992, and the collection quickly developed. Shuttlecocks by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, a wonderful gift from the Sosland Family, was finished in 1994. Some artists' acquisitions of sculptures in the 1990s prompted expansion. In 1996, the area was renamed the Kansas City Sculpture Park. In 2011, Roxy Paine's stainless steel tree-like dendroid Ferment was erected in the park. Robert Morris's Glass Labyrinth was a major commission in 2014 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Sculpture Park, which was renamed the Donald J. Hall Sculpture Park.
