I have been going to Funky town for over 20 years. Over the years, I have danced less and less. The music 10 years ago was more focused on the 70s and early 80s and the dance floor was always packed. Now ,alot of the songs are not fun or danceable. We even requested many songs but the DJ just didn't seem to read the room and continue to play songs that kept people involved. Please play what the people want and dressed up to dance to. Rock and Roll 70s style!

Although it’s a cool bar, awesome decor and fun music. I’m giving this a 3 star. Over the weekend I was drugged at the bar. My drink was spiked (not funky towns fault). I ended up having to go to the hospital as I couldn’t walk, was passing out and throwing up violently. I don’t remember anything from Friday night. My blood came back positive for benzodiazepine (Xanax) and Buprenorphine (BUP). This is a frequent issue from what I’m aware (many reviews across google and fb say the same thing). This needs to be talked about and dealt with. Very dangerous for someone to be in the bar drugging people. Funky town is fun don’t get me wrong but just be very aware of your drinks at all times.

Such a fun experience. Would definitely come back. They are very serious about their no video recording rule. Would recommend reserving a table if you can because the place was packed and finding a place to sit was difficult. The mix of music was fun and the energy was high. Great time for sure.

Rude staff, didn't make it past the door. Evidently men aren't allowed to show shoulders at this establishment because it "causes too many problems". It's really just a money grab to force people to spend $25 on their plain 10 pack t-shirts they bought for $5 at walmart.

Go here if you want to work harder than a Chinese rail worker in the early 1900’s to get inside. For real I’ve never had a bar make it so difficult to come inside. Anyway my point is everyone was extremely rude by the front door. Beyond that excellent environment to be drunk and have a good time. Don’t mind the ancient bodies checkin you out from the top floor they don’t bite less you’re dead ;)

We went to Funky Town for my sister’s 50th birthday. The atmosphere is great. I mean truly so much fun! We gave a few song requests to the server to give to the DJ and almost every request was played. The drinks were not great and kind of expensive, not a big deal, but the DJ didn’t show up until 10pm so for the first two hours we were there we were just listening to a prerecorded playlist of subpar songs. That was kind of a bummer. We were ready to head out by 11pm, but felt we needed to stay longer as the “party” had really only started at 10pm. I wish they opened about an hour earlier and had a DJ ready to go. But we had a blast once he arrived and we definitely plan to go back.

Always a good time! Now that the TikTok wave has died down it’s back to being an older crowd but honestly I think that adds to the vibe, especially fun to go around Halloween and catch the thriller performance

Their Halloween party show is a must do! Super fun but not allowed to film the show. You don't want to spoil it for others.So, these are pictures before. You will have a blast here!

If you are into old school music, then this is where it is at. The place is getting on the older side though. Good vibes, and the Halloween show was fun.

This was our first time at Funky Town. We had a large group and we all dressed up and our favorite 70s outfits. Getting in was quick and easy. We quickly found ourselves at the bar getting drinks. The drinks were large and for a great price. The music was on par for the theme and the dance floor was hopping! There was a ton of seating outside of the dance floor. We paid $5 to get VIP bracelets and we got to go upstairs where there were tables and couches. It was fun up there because it overlooked the dance floor. We had so much fun and would definitely go back!

Great place! It's a lot of fun. I highly recommend Funky Town! The food was greasy... chicken and fries - yuck.

fantastic place to go with friends. Great music as long as you enjoy oldies. My grandkids greatly enjoyed going there! If there is a large group you can call ahead a couple of months & reserve a table.

For $24 a 6 pack and $8-$12 a mix drink...I should NOT have to pay a cover charge of $15 if I had to wait 20-30 minutes each time I wanted a drink! Two bar tenders most of the night...the bar by the bus says coming soon... I'm pretty sure the bathrooms are the cleanest part of this place. Pool tables (one close, one open) couldn't fathom trying to play on the one that was open! Use our money to fix this place or it'll crash and burn soon...

Overall, we feel let down. We are from Minneapolis. For us the cover of $15 nearly matches the busiest bar's cover on its busiest night, on a mediocre weekend here. The drinks we were poured cost us $10 a drink, and literally you cannot taste any alcohol. We feel scammed.
However, all the right music was played, and it looms fantastic inside. There is food available, but we didn't try any. If you come here, definitely pre-drink and have a designated driver.
We spent $52 for 2 people: $30 for 2 covers, $20 for 2 drinks that had almost no alcohol, and $2 tip.

Please for the love of god y’all have a self serve water station set up for free. People are downing their drinks to head out on the dance floor, sweating up a storm and then not properly hydrating. Charging 2.50 for water should be a crime; and if people pass out from dehydration I hope y’all are using all the money your getting from charging for water to cover their hospital visits.

Groovy Baby! Funky Town has great vibes and is an absolutely fun place to have a celebration! Birthdays, bachelorettes, anniversaries, etc. Great range of age groups on the dance floor. Fun colors and pictures opportunities. So many neon lights and signs. Definitely a lot cleaner and nicer than it has been in the past. So much fun to dress up and dance the night away. 🪩🕺🏽💃🏼

So much fun! I wanted to go dancing on my birthday and I had a blast. I had no idea how swagged out the inside is with a disco ball dance floor. All the tables were reserved! The waitress was kind to me and got me a table next to the dance floor. Thank you whoever you are who made a birthday memory.

Oh man, this place is incredible! Honesty, it has to be the best dance club I’ve ever been to. This is definitely a place for people that like to dance. If you don’t dance, you will not enjoy it. The music was awesome and the vibes are great. Everyone just dancing and enjoying the night. I haven’t danced that much in a long time. 70’s-80’s music mix but still plays some 90’s and up hits. Fun times!!!!
