This is the place to go if you want to learn everything there is to know about Kansas City's illustrious past. The Kansas City Museum, which will be refurbished in 2021, offers five galleries filled with historical items that chronicle the story of our city from the 1800s to the current day.

The first floor is a museum. They only have an all gener bathroom (men and women). Their drinks are advertized as "inclusive". That should tell you enough but ill go on. The other 2 floors are completely focused on the social justice movement. The old art is absolutoly stunningly heautiful and everything makes you think "how long did that take? Did they enjoy doing it? Where lots of people making carvings like these?" The new art is been placed in a museum, so you know its art. If it wasnt in a museum you would not know that its art. Theres maniquins with random objects stabled to them. Theres one section that talks about how osage women used to wear special wedding dresses. Its in the glass case with colorful hat and jacket, but this hat and jacket have a plaque next to them saying they are completely unrelated to the larger plaque misleading you into thinking that its an example of cherokee clothing. The native amrican drums had modern paintings on them i maybe would have liked to see what a native american painting looked like, dont you think? Dont you think you hammered the nail of "give minorities MORE" enough that i can just see a little histroy?

This historical mansion of the R. A. Long family is worth the visit. If you like to discover local history of Kansas City, you will enjoy this stop. Did you know that the Long family donated the land for Longview College in Lee’s Summit? Or, the Longview Mansion, a beautiful wedding venue, was the home of Mr. Long’s daughter? Go see it soon. First rate historical displays and original art. No admission fee and parking was relatively easy to find. Surrounded by many beautiful, old homes.

This is a very well kept historical mansion turned into an extraordinary museum about Kansas City. Hard to believe this was a home for a family in the past who happened to be a lumber tycoon once upon a time. The entire neighborhood has very well maintained Victorian homes. The Elexir shop in the basement is a nice place to have a coffee, soda or various drinks and snacks. This was a nice gem of a museum to learn some interesting facts about our city.

Cool museum in a cute neighborhood. We were able to find street parking nearby and walked in right as they opened on Thursday morning. We really only came here for the Inciardi mini print machine but explored all three floors of their exhibits. The gift shop had a lot of unique gifts, too. 🪙

Visited in early October! Had such a great time! Spent probably 2 or so hours here with my girlfriend. It was nice to see the importance placed on what was original to the house and what had been restored/replicated. Lots to see on every floor and didnt feel lackluster or overcrowded. Also the basement has a really nice soda fountain! Such a great vibe down there!

It is a free museum, the exhibition hall is very well arranged, and a female staff member at the front desk is very warm and friendly. It is a museum worth visiting.

Checked website multiple times to make sure it was open and after we drove all the way there we were told they were closed for the day without posting that information anywhere.

So neat! Loved the architecture of the building itself, so fancy! The exhibits were top notch. I especially liked the one on the cow town ballroom.

Terrific restored mansion. A wonderful tribute to a Great Philanthropist. Mr. Long left us with the spectacular WW1 Memorial. Thank you!

Great experience. The mansion which is now the museum is stunning. The exhibits are great. People who worked there were eager to answer questions. And NE KCMO is such a unique area.

Fountain City Winery was an Urban wine experience in the historic West Bottoms of KC. The wines are cleverly named after KC fountains and well designed labels represent them. We loved all of the wines on our flight... can't beat 5 pours for $8! Live music every Friday night. We'll return! Local owner #supportsmallbusiness

Cinder Block hosted Bay Boy for a Yelp event. This was my first time at the brewery. I was really impressed. The space is huge lots of seating and a beautiful patio. It was too hot to sit outside but I will be back to play yard games. Got the block IPA. Hoppy, balanced bitterness and just a little bit of passion fruit. Yum.

The grounds of this museum are so beautiful. We spent half of our time there walking and basking in the sun. The museum itself is grand. Walking up to it is an experience all on its own. The interior is laid out in some modern spaces and some traditional. Very amusing on every level. The surrounding area offers many great places to stay and enjoy. Whole family had a great time
