What makes it fun

This fountain is one of two that operate all year. It has also been dubbed the "Spirit of Collaboration" since it exemplifies how the public and commercial sectors collaborated to achieve a common goal. Its supporters range from Farmland's $30,000 investment to a three-cent pledge from a student. A central geyser on an 80' circular base can propel water to a height of 35'. In the winter, it transforms into an ice Sculptures, enticing visitors to see the various shapes made by the frozen water.

It's nice, but one must wonder when the Chiefs were playing, the Bills whose colors are blue and red. Why the fountain wasnt Chiefs red ...... its blue

Small but interesting park. The boat ramp is steep into the river. It's wide and looks sufficient for getting the boat into the river. The current is pretty rough due to the confluence of the Missouri and Kansas rivers coming together. There's places to fish along the bank but it's pretty steep to get down. It's a great view of down town. The park is open from 7 am to 10 pm. There's lots of parking.

I have been waiting for a few years for it to freeze over completely so I could take pictures. The top was about 12 feet hight it was very cool. There were a few places that you could see through the ice and they had turned the water off or it was frozen shut. It was very cool. It was so hard that people were walking on it.
