What makes it fun
The Italian proverb "Dame un'ombra," which translates to "Give me a shadow," is from Venice, which is well-known for its markets and merchants. Historically, traders in white wine would congregate beneath the Torre dell'Orologio. These vintners would reposition their stands during the day to be in the tower's shadow ("ombra"). The phrase "let's drink in the shade/shadows" has come to mean "let's have a glass of wine." In the Veneto region, saying "dame un'ombra" is still a common way to get together to drink! Like the previous vintners, OMBRA reflects the idea of moving and changing.
