*Private Party Room*
I've thrown a fair share of fun parties for different events. Some at full service venues, food trucks, catering services in my home.
I've never felt one didn't go well.
That being said, Pierpont's is on another fabulous level.
Absolute perfection in every way. From my first point of contact with Erin, who was so helpful and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to suggest things I would never have thought of. She worked with her chef and mixologist to make sure we had personal touches included. Even to the day of, she was still touching base to make sure everything was on par.
Arriving at Union Station we were greeted from afar by a wonderful smiling gentleman at the front desk. He promptly helped us with our supplies and got us on the elevator and to the event space.
At our private party space we had the absolute most delightful bartender, Heather, and her assistant, Martha. I don't think I could have found a better mix of professionalism, and the most friendly, warm and thoughtful hosts for the room.
Of course the food and drink were amazing and plentiful. Every single selection was superb. Guests have since reached out inquiring about certain yummy items on the menu. All the guests loved everything about it and felt treated to a great experience.
Leaving the venue were more helpful and kind staff willing to help us with our packages and get to our cars.
Such a beautiful, historic and iconic Kansas City gem with top notch staff.
I left feeling sorry I didn't have another party on the horizon to be able to come back soon.

I’m not sure how this place has a 4.6 rating out of 1.7k reviews.
Pros: Service was great. Suzanne was amazing.
Atmosphere was lovely
The sourdough bread was 🤌🏻

Cons: Food was MAYBE 3 stars, even 2 for the price.
Appetizer was the calamari. It was overcooked with some burned pieces. The fried baby spinach in it was great!
I ordered the venison osso bucco. It was very dry and chewy with no flavor at all. The side potatoes were good.
My husband ordered a rare bison ribeye. It was more medium rare, flavor was OKAY. The side mushrooms were phenomenal.

For a $159 for the meal, I expected “Mmm’s” or “OMG.. this is AMAZING!” And sadly didn’t get that.

We are long-time customers of Pierpont's and went for a birthday dinner in late January. The service was less attentive than in past visits. One person's meal was very good. My meal, the Amish chicken was not up to par. I regularly order this dish and the chicken itself was very nice, as always, but the accompanying sides were unremarkable and I would never order again. The bed of pureed squash or whatever was lukewarm and had little flavor. The corn fritters were surprisingly tasteless and had only trace kernals in the batter, which would have been partially alright had the puree been anything worth mopping up with the doughy blobs. The desserts were fine.

This is a super cool place! We didn’t make a reservation in time, but we were able to snag one of the first come, first serve tables in the bar area, which is a super cool place to sit. We brought our nine month old, and the staff were very kind and accommodating. The food is delicious, the service really good, and the atmosphere a ten!

**Pierpont's Restaurant: A Valentine's Day Delight (with a few minor hiccups)**

Pierpont's at Union Station proved to be a wonderful choice for our Valentine's Day celebration. While there were a couple of small issues, overall the experience was fantastic, and we'd happily return.

We opted for the Valentine's Day special, and it certainly delivered in some areas. The lobster mac and cheese was absolutely divine – rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The pear salad was another highlight, offering a unique and appealing blend of tastes that pleasantly surprised us. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, exactly as we requested, and melted in our mouths.

Unfortunately, the carrot cake dessert was a bit of a letdown. It had an unusual seasoning that was quite prominent and, for us, detracted from the overall flavor profile. It wasn't to our liking, and sadly, we couldn't finish it.

On the positive side, the restaurant itself was impeccably clean, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The bartenders and our waitress were incredibly attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the evening. We appreciated that our reservation was honored promptly, and we were seated without any significant wait.

Our table was by a window, which, while offering a nice view, did have a noticeable cold draft. However, the restaurant's interior temperature was comfortable, so it wasn't too bothersome.

Despite the dessert issue and the drafty window, we had a great experience at Pierpont's. The delicious food, attentive service, and overall ambiance made for a memorable Valentine's Day dinner. We would definitely recommend it for a special occasion and look forward to dining there again in the future.

Beautiful restaurant, well lit, quiet, comfortable & spacious seating. The food presentation is beautiful as well. You can dress up or down, it all depends on whether you are celebrating something special or just having a casual lunch, dinner, or date night. The steak filet and mashed potatoes were good, the shrimp was EXCELLENT, and their fish is DELICIOUS. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. He had a great personality & sense of humor, which was nice. I enjoyed this restaurant.

Had a girl's night out here and had a great experience! The restaurant is very pretty and staff was very pleasant. The menu had a good variety and they were willing to work with any requests or substitutions we asked for, even if it was an off the menu cocktail that was not often asked about (Italian Margarita). Would highly recommend checking out!

A whole different level of dining. I had the best crab bisque I’ve ever had in my life here. A bit pricey but well worth it. We reserved a private space on the lower level. The service was wonderful. We waited in the bar area until our reservation time and enjoyed a few drinks. Definitely a memorable experience.

Any meal you have here is more an experience than a meal. Upon entering, which you enter through the Crossroads hotel and there are valet signs outside then you walk in and walk left to the red Lazia sign, you are offered a liqueur to help cleanse your pallet and start you off on the right foot.

From here you will see the drinks and menu offerings. The drinks are unlike anywhere else as the options are created by the bartenders and crafted perfected. Dishes are served in a style where they space them out and let you eat through them at a nice yet entertaining pace.

Highly recommend the serpenete as it’s a small spiral pasta with fresh decadent truffle shredded on top and then a light broth poured over it. Smaller serving but strong flavoring throughout.

The whipped ricotta is an excellent appetizer as it’s not too sweet and not too filling but just curbs your hunger correctly and gets you ready for the bold flavoring ahead.

People may argue that the prices are high but for food of this quality and excellent wait staff and cocktails, this place is worth it - hands down! if you want to impress some in town travelers, have a work party, romantic date, or a phenomenal dish, Lazia is right for you.

Wonderful anniversary place. Clean, tidy, elegant. Had one of the best steaks of my life. I can't remember what topping it was, but it was cooked perfectly. Bone marrow was savory. Romantic, yet busy. I would like to come back someday. Our waiter was very attentive.
