What makes it fun
Swope Park, with 1,805 acres, is the crown gem of the KC Parks system. Swope Park, Kansas City's largest park and one of the largest municipal parks in the United States, is home to many of the city's best attractions and welcomes over 2 million visitors each year. Hiking trails meander through wooded areas and lush meadows, passing soccer fields, golf courses, community gardens, Fountain, and a treetop adventure park. Inside the park is the Starlight Theatre, an outdoor amphitheater that hosts musicals and concerts, as well as the Kansas City Zoo, which houses over 1,000 species from all over the world. Swope Park also houses the Lakeside Nature Center, Missouri's largest native species rehabilitation center.
