Beautiful on the outside, great indoor and outdoor pool. Restaurants on site have limited hours. For example from 2pm-4pm you can only order from bar snack menu. Room was not the cleanest. Large Coffee stain under desk, small stain on a couch, bathroom tub panel broken.

Great spot for a getaway. I do not recommend the restaurant three owls. It’s expensive for the quality of food (it’s Applebees/chilis quality at best at a steakhouse price point) and unfortunately the service and ambiance doesn’t make up for it. I did enjoy the spa service, the pool (including servers) and the tavern bar. All areas are excellent just skip the restaurant. Also the lady in the Lounge on the 5th floor was so sweet!

You would think for $104 for a pedicure it would last more than 3 days.

Visited the Spa for the first time this weekend and it did not disappoint! The spa is clean and seemed well-staffed. We constantly saw attendants gathering laundry, re-stocking supplies, and other general tasks that all added up to a very comfortable experience. Staff was all very friendly and genuinely seemed interested in helping us enjoy our visit. I had a prenatal massage by Kim and it was phenomenal! She was so kind and attentive and made me feel as if I was visiting an old friend. She told me she had been a LMT for years and I believe her! Highly skilled! The Grotto was a treat as well. I only wish I lived closer so I could visit regularly but we hope to make a trip to The Elms an annual thing. Thanks for the most relaxing morning!

We had a fantastic stay at the Elms. Loved the historical aspect of the hotel. Rooms are clean and beds are comfy. The grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed our breakfast at Three Owls. The lap pool in the basement is a hidden gem. Quiet and relaxing. The Ghost Tour with Jay is a must do. Fascinating stories from the hotel’s history. Location is super convenient to walking downtown.

It's been 10 years since my last visit, and it won't take long for me to return again! I needed a last minute fine tuning with my accomodations, it was quick and easy! My adult child and I got a suite for a wedding weekend. The bell hop greeted us at the elevator and took us to our room. It was clean and comfortable plenty of space. Unfortunately the spa wasn't available this weekend, but we've already got a spa day plan in the works. We attended a beautiful wedding outside and enjoyed a night of tasty food and drinks... excellent service around every corner. There's a sweet little coffee shop in the lobby and quick grab area with drinks, snacks, souvenirs. Having everything right there with no need to leave the property made the weekend relaxing and enjoyable. Can't wait to come back.

The Elms was a nice stay. Located in excelsior springs, itself an interesting little town just outside of Kansas City. The hotel was nice and well kept and the room was one of the nicer ones for the money. I know I've paid more before for less which was a nice surprise and there's plenty to do right there at the hotel if you're looking for a more relaxing time. With a pretty decent restaurant that gives big portions and a bar eating isn't a problem although I liked the Cafe better for a simple breakfast and lunch. Then there's the spa if that's your thing with all the options you'd expect from one but you'd better book it in advance unless it's off season and during weekdays. But even without booking anything at the spa there's a European lap pool in the basement and an outdoor pool both of which have accompanying hot tubs/ jacuzzi's. There's a pretty nice gym also on site as well if that's your thing. The hotel itself is a neat place to just take in with a lot of history and the grounds are nice to take a walk through with a lighted path and benches to sit and relax. The fishing river runs along the hotel property but isn't really a fishing spot or anything more of a creek really unless it's flooded. All in all we had a nice time, the staff was great and it was a quiet relaxing place in the office season. I'd stay again.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous. The customer service was top notch. The rooms were incredible. But, Jay who did the paranormal tour, was the highlight of our stay. He is an incredible story teller. He was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. He was super friendly. I would highly recommend taking his tour if you stay here!

Spectacular! We have come intermittently for several decades. Watched them renovate the property & reaped the rewards last night. Unrequested room upgrade to a terrific suite. We had the best Mac & cheese with a smoked pork shoulder with blueberry glaze that was fabulous! Spent the evening in the outdoor hot tub & indoor water lap pool & hot tub. That was a delight! So glad the investment in the property has occurred! Definitely worth a date overnight even on an off night. Of note, the cozy 2nd floor bar is closed on Monday nights.

Staff is friendly and responds quickly if you need assistance. The atmosphere is charming. Our room was upgraded to a lovely suite. The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. We enjoyed a couple's massage and 2 hours in the spa (grotto). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will go back. The ghost tour is a must. Jay has so many interesting stories. The ghosts were kind to us.😉👻
