The hotel stated that rooms would not be available until 4:00, so you really won't be able to check in until 4:00 or later; don't arrive early, or you'll just end up sitting around waiting—which is frustrating and unpleasant. However, once you do get into the room, it is very clean and beautiful.

My family had a blast. You have to ride the green slide!

Surprisingly I really enjoyed my time here with my kids. I thought it would be crowded and stressful. Even on a sold out night it was a great experience. Went because I wanted the kids to have a good time. Ended up enjoying it just as much. They have outdoor and indoor cabanas you can rent. The place really is advanced with their wrist bands. You pay for everything with your wrist band. It's great. No shuffling cards or cash. You enter and exit rooms and the parking lot all with your wrist band. Genius. Great stay. The kids cabin room is adory. Bathrooms are big. And the walls of the bathroom are solid!

Great time! We brought a hot plate and cooked the kids Mac & Cheese & hot dogs with buns. Brought their milk, bottled water, snacks etc.
The service & employees were fantastic & the water park was great. It was crowded, but absolutely manageable, with lots of employee led evening activities for the kiddos.

(Updating my review: the arcade has fixed all the machines and the person repairing everything was so kind. The staff in the arcade are great)

Overall: overpriced and unexpected add-ons and inexcusable building conditions ruin the vacation experience.

    $20/night parking
    $10/day pool lockers
$17 min meal prices for frozen fried foods with no refill on your 12oz Pepsi. $17 for a refillable cup. Everywhere you turn BUY BUY BUY.

The lobby entry was really exciting for my kid and some of the theming like with the restaurants can be really nice when you first walk in. The wet wrinkled carpeting on floors 3 and 4 is inexcusable. You can feel the wet rotting wood beneath and it’s wild to pay $250/night at a place that can’t get patrons to dry off before they go to their rooms upstairs. MagiQuest being slapped in the middle of the chaos was an absurdly terrible layout choice.

MagiQuest: my 7yr old enjoyed the collecting aspects. The game was quite outdated and all of the interactive elements were tattered and sad looking. Having to go from floor 3 to 4 was awful because the elevators are in the center, so you’re crossing the busy center to get from the left wing to the right wing, using the stairs on the outskirts, and just confused wandering around because none of the wing entry signs (whispering woods, etc) are lit, and one is just plain missing. Just a poorly designed layout entirely.

The passes are a RACKET. You pay $70-90 and think you’re getting a lot of activities. But each one requires upgrades. MagiQuest: you get the $15 game and the sad wand. All other wands look significantly better, and naked without the topper, so you’re paying SO much more now. The candy “bucket” is a little plastic drinking cup. Want a slightly bigger cup or one of ten options for cooler cups and youre paying extra. The ice cream is literally a golf ball sized scoop (a topping is .55 cents extra). The arcade card is only $5, so I paid $40 extra for my kid to walk out with a $5 made in China small snake plush. The laser tag is fine but takes 10mins tops. Build a bear is just the plush. It’s like they know your kid is going to beg for extras every step of the way, and youre locked in to getting your money out of the pass, so you’re screwed either way.

I would recommend sitting down with your kid beforehand, going over the list of activities and just committing to ONE. get a build a bear and go all out, or throw $100 at the arcade to get a better prize at the end,… but don’t buy the pass because you’ll just need upgrades along the way and it all feels like an overall loss. Bring candy and movie snacks from home.

The one good thing about the hotel being outdated is rooms have a fridge and microwave, so bring food from home and avoid the hotel food at all cost because the FOOD IS TERRIBLE. They are cutting corners MASSIVELY with the food, so the buy-ahead discount is so tempting, but you will not want ANY of the food. The breakfast buffet is one level above free breakfast because it has bacon, not with $17 a plate, just drive somewhere for breakfast, you’re welcome. The food at the water park is expensive and SO SAD and flavorless, just pack food from home!! There are countless restaurants nearby, just pack food and/or eat out for dinner!

Location is awesome! Rooms and pool need upgrades. Staff were rude facility not clean. We had to drive 6 hours to this spot and for the price felt the overall experience lacking. The breakfast package is WAY over priced but we got roped into it. Food was so horrible we couldn’t eat it a third day. My kids still had a blast but for the price I expected more.

It was very enjoyable, however for the price of the rooms per day, I thought it would be in better condition. The ceiling had bad water stains and some sagging that was painted over. The wall paper in the bathroom was peeling. The sink had chips in it, the drawers of the dresser stuck so badly, it was difficult to get them open and closed. There was a laundry bag, but no laundry service. Bring your own towels, because if you don't, you have to check their towels out and back in, at the entrance to the water park.
There are not nearly enough ice and vending locations for as large as the hotel is. Some of the employees were rather rude. The outer entrance door had lots of issues with the wrist bands not unlocking the door. I had to repeatedly scan my wrist band to get the door to unlock and that's extremely difficult when hands are full.
Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and our son had lots of fun at the arcade and water park, but make sure to get a pup/wolf pass in advance, because it's extremely expensive if you don't, and don't bother bringing cash, because it's a cashless location. If you don't pay for meals in advance it can be charged to your room, but no cash is accepted anywhere; even some of the vending machines. You also have to pay extra for premier parking that's closest to the building entrances. Definitely felt nickel and dimed.
I will say the story time and crafts was a nice touch and our son enjoyed the magi quest also. They also had a decent amount of on-site food locations which made it nice not having to leave the resort, during our stay, hardly at all.

Very pricey! Definitely plan accordingly. Rooms were okay, clean but nothing too special unless you buy the more expensive stays. Sofa bed was not comfortable. Breakfast (additional charge) was tasty but took forever to get through since there are so many people at a time going. Pools were great and the lifeguards were very alert. Bars made very overpriced drinks but the service was great and all very friendly. Fun activities for the kids in the main lobby so check the schedules! Close enough to other places if you'd rather not eat dinner on site. Changing rooms in waterpark smelt of straight urine so wear your shoes! Lockers were $13 to keep change of clothes.

First time in Great Wolf lodge Kansas city. It has a very small indoor Waterpark. The food at buffet was OK, also it is a small buffet the food wasn't worth the price that they charge. I recommend eating out. The magi quest game looked good but then a lot of the stops for the game where broken. So instead of waisting the money we skipped it. Some of the kids activities where great--like the build the bear, mini golf, laser tag, and arcade. Not a big fan of the staff most of them seemed to not enjoy their job. No enthusiasm or smilies from any of them. All in all this great wolf lodge is good for a quick 1 or 2 day or weekend trip for locals. But I wouldn't go out of my way to come here from another state. This hotel doesn't have the same feel as some of the other great wolf lodges, granted I have only been to 2 others (MN&TX) but they were better than this one. It's an older lodge and you can tell. The location is great, it's close to legends mall area-nice shopping, and great movie theater(with bar for adults). The zoo in KC is amazing definitely recommend.

We had a great mini-vacation/birthday party at Great Wolf Lodge. We got an outside cabana which was perfect with the nice weather. The kids enjoyed the water park inside and out, and there were things for all of us to do from age 8-75. The kids activities like the evening dance party, morning yoga, and afternoon party by the pool were great! We especially liked the wristbands that eliminated the need for room keys, carrying a credit card, and ordering food. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful, as well. All in all, an excellent stay!

The hotel is a little run down compared to other great wolfs we've stayed at. Ripped carpet in hallways, the thermostat/ac/heater in our room didn't work right, bathroom fan was really loud. But overall it was a great experience and our kids had the same amazing time that they have come to expect at Great Wolf.

We recently stayed at this amazing lodge and was astounded at the great staff and the cleanliness of a lodge full of wet kids!!! We had an unfortunate incident with an ill mother that required the paramedics to be called and our mother to be hospitalized for the remainder of our stay. Despite this not being a pleasant way to start off the trip, the staff went out of their way to make our stay welcoming and comfortable. The staff and even refunded the room for our mother, as she wasn’t able to use it at all. It was the icing on a wonderful stay where we were still able to enjoy ourselves and our kiddos had a fabulous time. We will be back I hope someday soon!!! And we will definitely rent the cabana again 🤗

If you have kids and haven't been to Great Wolf Lodge, go book right now! Our stay exceeded our expectations in every way. We booked for just a quick (semi-close to home) stay-cation and the kids loved every single moment. The waterpark entertained them for hours, lifeguards were diligently on duty so I knew both kids were safe as they played and played.

Breakfast buffet was delicious and a great value for so much food and sitting in an adorable 'cabin' booth was an added treat.

The arcade was a fun way to entertain the kids once out of the water for the day (though this was the only place we found to be a bit expensive) and the free kid activities in the lobby like arts/crafts, story time and evening dance party made it so memorable for our kids (4/7 years old).

We'll certainly be back and telling friends too.

The most attentive lifeguards I’ve ever seen! Thank goodness there was never a need but the lifeguards were always on their A game. We even saw them get tested randomly with dummies throughout our stay. And they all excelled. I always felt like my kiddo was safe. The overall lodge was great too. Our 2 year old had a blast. We loved the entertainment staff. Noah especially seemed to enjoy his job and keep the kids entertained. And a special thanks to Ollie for stopping and singing Mona songs to our son when he was dressed in his Maui costume. I can see us returning to such a family friendly place.
