I got married here in December and can't say enough good things! We toured three wedding venues and saw The Monarch Room last - we knew as soon as we set foot inside that we would book here. Our priorities were open vendor policy and space to get ready, get married, and get down - it was SO NICE to stay in the same place for the entire day. This venue is the perfect blend of affordability, beauty, and flexibility. Throughout the planning process the owner, Megan, had a great go-with-the-flow attitude and really did whatever she could to make our day perfect. The staff executed the room flip between ceremony and reception flawlessly and lightning fast. Our bartenders were also hired through the venue and their great attitudes and awesome service were a perfect addition to our reception.

We had a great experience using the Monarch Room for our wedding/reception venue. The owner, Megan, is very easy to work with and was helpful with our planning process. Shout out for being one of the only venues in downtown KC with the option to BYOB! There is a required charge to use the venue’s bartenders, but still well worth it. Venue is beautiful and was easy to decorate. Also she allowed us to bring our dog (best boy in our wedding party) so he could celebrate with us as well! Wedding was a great time!

Here’s my honest review of The Monarch Room:We booked this venue early in 2023. There were only a handful of Saturdays available and we luckily got a date we loved. It’s downtown and was exactly was we wanted in a venue. Being LGBT was a non-issue.The owner, Megan, was super helpful and communicative.This was the easiest process for booking. The venue was open vendor, they provided the bartenders, they offered security as an add-on if desired. I believe 250 max guest count.There’s a full catering kitchen, multiple restrooms, large bar, and 2 get ready areas.Linen rental and tables and chairs were included, as was all the basic pop and tonic water, etc. Down lights are already in the venue, and the bar lights up. You can even customize the front of the bar with a monogram for an extra fee.As for service, everything was smooth. We had access at 10am, there was an on-site attendant to help us and coordinate with vendors if needed.Bartenders were great, they packed it all up for us and did their best to open bottles only as needed. They did our signature drinks great, and couldn’t ask for more. Just make sure you have your guest tip!As an above and beyond, we had a sentimental item left (even after we thought we got it all) and the owner was able to help us get it back very quickly.Rules: no confetti, use command strips for decor. It was pretty simple.I highly recommend. You get a great value for the price and location!

The Monarch room could not have been a more perfect venue for the casual vibe we were going for at our wedding!!! Meeting with Megan was always great! You really get the most bang for your buck at this venue. The bar package was awesome and the bar staff….well…..we cannot say enough good things about them!! The bridal room was amazing and because I didnt have a large wedding party, my friends got to hang out with me back there while we all got ready. It was a cute bride room that was cozy and made great pictures! The grooms room was super chill and im pretty sure several naps were taken on that couch. There was also a tv in there too. I would recommend this venue to anyone and everyone looking for a venue!

Our daughter had her wedding reception at The Monarch Room. It was spectacular! Megan and her staff answered all of our questions before hand. The day of the event her staff helped with everything we needed done, down to every detail. We are still getting texts and emails about what a wonderful night it was and how perfect the venue was!! I truly recommend The Monarch room for any of your events!! Thanks again Megan for a fantastic lifetime memory!

There are so many great things about this venue to write about. First, Megan and team were so helpful. From our planning meetings to ensure everything was figured out, all the way through to after the wedding to make sure our day was everything we had hoped for, they were there for us. We loved the flexibility of their open vendor policy as well as the BYOB bar package, which not only made it easy to have fun signature drinks but also saved us so much money! The venue is modern industrial and lit so artistically that we didn’t need hardly any decorations. The downtown location was very convenient for hotels and excellent views. We were able to have a low waste event by partnering with Compost Collective KC. All in all, this venue is an incredible value for all the features and qualities it offers. Don’t hesitate to book your next event here!

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Monarch Room on 10.01.22. The venue was perfect for our vision -- we wanted a dark, moody, romantic vibe and we were able to execute that in this space. The bride and groom suites were so nice to have, the location is perfect, and we had great communication with the owners. The Monarch Room will always hold a special place in our hearts and I strongly recommend this wedding venue to anyone wanting to get married in the heart of Kansas City!

Absolutely Perfect venue ! And the owner Megan is AMAZING! From the moment of inquiry I had already made my mind up that I would use this venue to host a baby shower. Even before I had actually seen the space in person. Megan’s professionalism and warm , inviting spirit was the best part . She’s so easy to work with and instantly feels like I’ve known her for years. She was an invaluable asset to the entire baby shower, all my guests loved her just as much as I do ! In fact I’ve already booked my next event with her . She’s definitely my go to from now on. The best KC has to offer ! And don’t forget the location!

We had our sorority event at the Monarch Room this past weekend! It was such a fun night and Megan and her husband made our experience so enjoyable. They were so easy to work with. I will definitely be having another event here again!
