Cocktails at Verdigris are based on the notion of change and evolution. Verdigris is also the inspiration for the bar's name. Verdigris is a brilliant blue-green color that develops as copper or brass oxidizes. The lovely blue-green tones throughout create a warm, yet classy lounge vibe.

While here, we sat at the bar and tried Millionaire, Aqua Regia, Matronae's Blessing, South Hyde Park, Duragno Martini and Pendergast. All were phenomenal and the bartender was so nice.

My wife and I visited this bar on Saturday evening for after dinner drinks. The two of us were seated on the patio ready to enjoy the exemplary service and drinks we've enjoyed there for years.

Our experience on Saturday was much different from previous visits. We were greeted by a server who was short and matter of fact when speaking with us. He also made us feel hurried when making our drink selections. His actions were off putting to us, however we were determined to have a great night.

When the two of us received our bill with an automatic gratuity added I was disappointed.
It's not that I don't tip, in fact we always do. We love this bar and staff. Their policy states an automatic gratuity is only applied to parties of six or more. Were we judged as a couple that won't tip? Were assumptions made?

We emailed Verdigris twice with no response.

If you are looking for a bar that would have been the pinnacle of cool in the 2000s, this is it. The drinks are good, but certainly not worth $25. And the atmosphere can't decide if it wants to be Gatsby or 00s club inspired. The music is way too loud and way too club like. The scene is filled with older millennials trying to hold onto their heyday in their now older suburbanite lives. But hey, if that's what you're into, this is a great place for it!

Incredible cocktail bar. Beautiful interior with comfortable seating and a great vibe. I had the “Carrot Cake at Work” and it was one of the best drinks I’ve had. They also have food options that looked great. Make a reservation- they are always very busy.

It’s a velvety, plush trap that will have you for at least a few hours; no one’s counting though! Bring your friends, family, a partner, or just yourself and try all the different drinks that catch your eye. While the drinks are a bit pricey for what you get (not very strong and not a lot, truly a cocktail) they are interesting and fun to share. The bar opens quite early in the day, so enjoy the decor and show up early to ensure you get seating. The bathrooms were kept clean and the service was very welcoming and fun! You’re likely to meet some managers as well as the cocktail inventors behind the bar. Based on the drinks alone, I wouldn’t have snuck the fifth star in however their FOOD menu is the best surprise. I highly recommend trying their popcorn, a Monte Cristo, or whatever new item they come up with. To their chef, all the stars.
