The wine list is extensive, but it leans almost entirely on Italy and California. I'd love to see it branch out to more regions, especially given the cuisine. Service is where this fell short. I told our server up front that we were on a tight schedule because of the symphony. She then spent five minutes walking the table next to us through the menu. She did a great job with them, but the pace after that was slow, and we nearly missed the start of the show. We made it, but it was closer than it should have been. Parking was easy, though a bit odd: the lot is a block and a half away. The restaurant explained it on their website and the server confirmed it verbally, so there were no surprises. Great food and atmosphere, held back by timing. If you have a show to catch, tell them early and ask them to hold you to it. I'm not sure I'd return, mostly because of the service.

We had an event here, my daughter's engagement party. Not only were the hosts amazing in getting things set up, and the event space perfect for our size event, but the food was outstanding. I come from a family where some are foodies and some are just people who eat whatever. This menu made everyone happy and we got many enthusiastic comments on the food and the atmosphere. Of course, it wouldn't be a party without a little alcohol, and although we didn't serve any German sweet wines (a favorite of mine, but we gotta keep it tuned to the guests), but they had a small but perfect beer selection, the highlight in my opinion being the Fruh kolsch on tap. Did I mention the amazing staff and owners? They made this event a success for us, and we didn't have to worry about a thing...they were one step ahead of us at every turn. Definitely going back for dinner and drinks, but I can't recommend this enough to anyone else. Thanks to everyone at Affare for a memorable event!

Best birthday dinner in a long time,and best German food restaurant, hands down. Service was prompt, server regularly checked on us, felt well treated. Highly recommend!

The food first off is amazing. They really spend time figuring out the right ingredients and combinations to make it a great tasting experience, not just a place to eat. The service is wonderful! They are attentive, explain the menu well and are quick to get you anything you may want. Bonus points for this business because it was my wife's birthday and I special ordered a cake on short notice. They made it for me and I was able to pick it up for her birthday. It was very special and I greatly appreciated it. If you haven't tried this restaurant, you're definitely missing out and you need to change that ASAP.

Highly mediocre. The atmosphere is great, service is pretty damn good, but the food is just mediocre. We had the poutine, which was super flavorful, and tasted great, but even the fries not covered in gravy were super soggy. If the fries were crispy, 11/10, as is 7/10. I had the wild boar, awful. So over cooked it was like sawdust, and lacked any flavor. Best part of the dish was the spatzel, which is…just spatzel. Overall, a super mediocre night out for $200. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews of Affäre, and left highly disappointed.

Not for me, had to walk out. Was off put by the person greeting us, the way he selected our seating as well as his attire. Noticed there was no attire code amongst the servers either, and communication was quite awkward between them, not to mention everyone had a frown. With the occasion being that it was my wife's birthday I couldn't wait and risk the food being as dismal as the whole vibe.

We had the tasting menu with the wine and beer pairings, everything was delightful. The scallop ceviche, squash soup, short ribs were all cooked well, balanced flavors. We’ll definitely be back!

My wife and I haven't eaten here in several years. I have to say I kind of forgot about the place. It's going to definitely be back on our regular rotation. The food was excellent, great ambiance with plenty of space and our server was awesome. I had the bacon-wrapped trout and it was one of the best things I've had this year. Our server really knew the menu and gave us great recommendations.

I would give this restaurant 100 stars. The food is excellent. The Jager Schnitzel was crispy and the meat was tender. The duck breast was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the morels and white asparagus. On top of truly wonderful cuisine, the service was outstanding.

Had a wonderful night here with the girls. The staff was friendly and attentive, without being overwhelming, and our server always came by at just the right times to refill water or check on us. The recommended dishes were absolutely wonderful, and I was in love with the veal tips and spätzle that I had. So excited for a restaurant with German cuisine that isn't too greasy and has just the right amount of flavor and proteins. The beer selection was also very nice. Will definitely be coming back again

10 star meal and one of the best I've ever had in my life. I got the tasting menu and put myself in the chef's hands. 1000% recommended. Katie (sorry if I'm wrong) made me feel like I was the only person she was concerned with, even while being very busy otherwise. Great service, phenomenal food and an extensive drink menu I didn't explore. Their inside seating was beautiful, they had a space for bigger parties and the nicest looking patio. Come and let them spoil you.
