Belvoir Winery and Inn

Check-in was easy, staff was welcoming. I wish there was more info/hype around the haunting history that the inn has. I saw they were featured on ghost hunting shows. I'm terrified of ghosts, but was nervously excited for haunting experiences. I read about a real skeleton being in a closet but never got any info there. They had info on the back of their menus at the bar, but I never went back into the bar after check-in (I am in recovery).

I stayed at the Driskill Hotel in Austin and they had pamphlets on the history and haunting incidents that happen/locations in the hotel so you can check them out. There was a sense of eeriness here at Belvoir but could be marketed more to their advantage. I read they do seasonal things during the fall but would be cool year-round!

Only negative: Room was stuffy (they have AC, but no fans), and when we got back from the baseball game, it was too warm and the thermostat was locked at 70 degrees which would be fine, but it definitely felt warmer. But I called the number and the innkeeper came right away (it was 11pm)! He moved us to a new room that was good temp and was very accommodating/friendly! We only got to stay 1 night but we will be back and hope to get some haunting!

We stayed in the Bridal Suite, which was absolutely wonderful. The large sitting area provided plenty of space to relax, the king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, and the dining table was large enough to gather the whole family for games and conversation.

One of the highlights of our stay was spending time with the bartender, who was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories about the property's history, adding even more depth to the experience.

I first fell in love with this property when I attended my brother's wedding here years ago, and returning reminded me exactly why. The Inn at Belvoir Winery continues to be a unique, memorable destination that combines charm, history, comfort, and hospitality. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a one-of-a-kind getaway.

The bridal suite was large and clean, but amenities like coffee, tea, and a refrigerator were very basic. But the bathroom was nice, the king bed was comfy, and the sofa/living room was okay. The small TV made us laugh and did not work properly.

Since we were the only guests, I am not sure about the noise level from other guests. It is a GREAT SPACE for family reunions and weddings as there are many gathering areas in the whole building. I would hope they CLOSE the winery during special events, but I am not sure of that.

Getting here was easy thanks to GPS - hard to remember travel without it!
The road to & grounds of the place are lovely.

It does have a vibe to it.

There's no info of eateries or what to do in the room. And while we all use our phones - it's a nice touch for all places (even Air B&Bs do it) to have a booklet or binder.
I went to the bar asking if there was food - only option was a pre-packaged charcuterie board.
I'd traveled 11+ hours and was looking for some help & hospitality but I got quick responses with a yellow sticky note that literally had 6 numbers on it.
The highway numbers.
No restaurant names, addresses or even her to look it up... just that extra* thing to offer hospitality to a stranger.

People who have traveled/aren't from the area/are tired need some friendly go-the-extra mile hospitality.
Have I said the word 'hospitality' enough? Lol.

The food lock was tricky to get it to latch, there was a cup on the floor outside the door when I entered.
I walked into the bar upon arrival asking where I go to check in... I think it's a great place for those from around here- but if alone/tired and a little overwhelmed, this place might nit check all the boxes.

The room is spacious & clean.
The bed a little soft & squeaky. Upon entering it was 80°.
Thankfully I immediately turned the temp down & it responded quickly, so that was refreshing.

There's a little coffee maker with Styrofoam cups (not individually wrapped), powered creamer - this place ought to offer actual creamer in the rooms (or a note that some is available in the bar- and then ensure it's there for guests!)
There are earplugs - which was a super touch!

The tray that the coffee packages/sugar/ear plugs is on is dirty with actual dust bunnies on it, so it misses the mark.

So much could be really great if someone had extra eyes on these things - see it through travelers' eyes (and those away from home).

I won't stay again. BUT. Am grateful for the cleanliness of the bed/pillows & bathroom

The wine? Horrendous. Good lord, I’ve had some 2-buck chuck better than this. The grapes used for the wine (not even all of them grown at the property) need to be cleansed. I’m sorry, but while the bartender was nice, the building cool, and the history fascinating, this place needs to become a haunted house and hotel and give up on making wine. Exploring the space and investigating the paranormal side was neat, but that’s about it.

Also, we found a clump of hair stuck to the wall in the bathroom near the shower. Does no one clean that?

Oh, the bed was comfy at least.

What I did encounter though was truly pleasant folks while sipping on their dessert wine, called "Boo's." The kind company alone made the stay worthwhile. Should work take me back to Kansas City, I'll be staying here again.
