I'm giving 5 stars ONLY because i see potential if the owner addresses the issues I Will state in this review.
1. 1st of all. I'm not gluten free and I eat before I go in every time. However! Both times I visited I watched 75 percent of the guests leave because the gluten free kitchen didn't exist anymore.
I know Fri/Sat must be the best business days, but watching the disappointment from the guests can only add up to lost business and I want you guys to succeed. I heard from the workers talking to another guest, the owner is in negotiations with a new Vegan kitchen with Gluten free offerings and that would be so awesome and special for the Crossroads neighborhood 😀 👌
2. The AC has been either off or turned down both times I arrived at open. Apparently NEST is the thermostat they use. But can't be accessed by the employees and is remote controlled. Probably by management in St Louis. In the weather we've been having, they need to edit the schedule to turn AC on HOURS before open... it was sweltering in there. And I almost left...
3. Beer options looked great, but half of them were out :(
4. Lack of cocktails. They DO have Liquor but are limited. WAS told they are trying to get owner on board with new bar program and that'd be so nice!
5. The Untappd app / menu as appears on the screen... displays the ratings of each tap. Guys I have worked in the industry for over 10 years. And I know you can turn the ratings off. But as they display, most are rated 4/5 stars. I had the product. It's GREAT. but displaying the ratings are a major deterrent for guests that are new.
6. The signage outside WAS COVERED BY TREES. down the street, one of the most popular breweries in the area: Casual Animal, you can see plain as day. I look up the street... and you CANNOT TELL THAT THERE IS A CIDER SPOT IN THE STRIP. both spelled out sign and square logo sign are completely covered by foliage. You should probably contact eh city about this to trim the trees!
I will be back! Space is great! Even of it's for live music which I heard might be possible. I never knew I was a fan of cider! If the owner and managerial staff would allow the current staff more control and fix other issues this place would have as much bizz as Casual Animal. It's such a great space, great spot and the gluten free crowd has no safe places in the Crossroads. It's an unseized market. And the owner should probably pay attention to what ppl want and not just what they 'like'
