The experience is truly what wins the cake here.
We started with their special soup a butternut squash with what I believe was maple and maybe brown sugar. It reminded me of the holidays: comforting, warm, and absolutely delicious.
Our second appetizer was the Ris de Veau. I wanted to expand my palate… and unfortunately, that was not my best idea. I’m not picky at all, but this dish just wasn’t for me and ours was slightly undercooked. That said, our server handled it wonderfully, had it sent back immediately, and removed it from our bill with no hesitation. The service alone deserves recognition.
For our main dishes, everything was solid. I ordered the porc and was especially excited about the port and cranberry reduction and it absolutely delivered. So flavorful and rich. The sautéed sweet potatoes were good, but the real surprise was the braised cipollini onions. I never thought I’d crave eating an onion by itself… yet here we are. Lol.
My husband ordered the Truite. The flavor was great, but the temperature was a bit off. It wasn’t undercooked or overcooked it just wasn’t warm. He still finished it, and I tried it as well. We both loved the creamy parmesan risotto that came with it.
This is the perfect place for romance. It’s unique, intimate, and the ambiance is something you truly have to experience for yourself.
