What makes it fun
The house specialty at Cafe Ollama is caf de olla, which is coffee steeped with cinnamon, piloncillo, star anise, and a brown cone of refined cane sugar that melts down into the coffee for added deliciousness. This coffee is a morning ritual for grandmothers in rural Mexico. This storefront was once used as a terminus for El Conejo, a bus service that only ran one trip from Kansas City to Mexico and back. El Conejo closed with the border and was transformed into Caf Ollama. Customers now order their coffee at the counter where El Conejo used to sell tickets.
