Since 1938, Dagwood's Cafe has been a Kansas City landmark diner. A popular breakfast and lunch spot for Rosedale residents and workers. Many of our customers have been coming to Dagwood's since they were children and now bring their children and grandchildren. Our regulars love our open face roast beef sandwiches and burgers, as well as our coffee. Dagwood's Cafe is a blast from the past with all the retro nostalgia your heart can handle.

I took my handicapped sonbin there , and the whole employee staff was staring at him so much, everyone in my family had to tell employees to stop staring. Bus boy, waiteess, money person, even management. I will never go back. And urge others not go.

As someone who has lived all over the KC metro, this is still my favorite breakfast spot by far. Very casual environment, seat yourself ect. Food is priced like Waffle House but the quality is much better. Fantastic service as well, most employees including servers are long term so they know how to handle a busy breakfast rush. Highly recommend over other local KC diners.

This was our first visit after hearing so many good things. The food was great and filled you up. The service was great as well and you could tell they had a bunch of regulars. We will be back for sure.

Quintessential Diner experience with great food, great service, local hangout, and uber-crowded on weekends so you KNOW it's a local favorite! My go-to order is biscuits and gravy, but everything is fantastic.

I have been coming here sporadically for the last 10 years. When I stopped in last week after not coming for about a year… things seemed different. My server Kim was AMAZING, the food was great as always, and the owner even came over and filled up my coffee and chatted a bit. Normally this was an in and out kind of breakfast place for me but I stayed and drank about 5 cups of coffee. They made me feel like family when I left. Not sure what changed but it was surely for the better!

Nice little mom and pop place to grab a bite to eat. Very friendly staff and fast service. I had the breaded tenderloin which was perfectly cooked and tender. The breading/tenderloin could have used just a little bit more seasoning but still tasted very good. I got the side basket of fries and onion rings which were also perfectly cooked. Obviously a local diner with staff and patrons who know one another but as a stranger I felt welcomed and comfortable. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping in and getting a bite to eat.

This is a fantastic breakfast spot. It has all the home cooked favorites on the menu, and the servers are very friendly. I was disappointed that nothing was homemade. Good, but the food has that "out of a can; out of a bag" feel and taste.
I happen to love corned beef hash out of a can, so I was okay with it. The generic pre-baked biscuits were the worst part of the entire meal. I like my homemade biscuits and gravy, so that was a real letdown.
Overall, I would certainly go back for breakfast. I would just make better choices from the menu.

Went there for brunch, and it was awesome! Wait to be seated was about 15 minutes. It was well worth it. When we were seated, my husband and I were immediately greeted by a server. She was friendly and quick. Our food was ready in about 10 minutes. It was huge portions and VERY affordable. We got the Dagwood and Breakfast burrito with chorizo and bacon and a side of hashbrowns. I recommend checking them out! They’re probably one of best breakfast places I’ve been to in KC.
