What makes it fun

Fox and Pearl is a neighborhood bistro that is in touch with the changing of the seasons and takes tradition seriously. Chef Vaughn Good works directly with local farmers to get the ingredients for his rustic and regional cuisine. He uses different cooking methods, like fire, smoke, and preservation techniques, to bring the ingredients to life. Chef Good went to the French Culinary Institute but he grew up eating Southern and Midwestern food. Fox and Pearl is a delightful blend of both worlds.

It's getting more & more pretentious here.. kinda steals the reasons I've been going here so consistently. Good food, but geez no where near the price lol. Driving all the way to St Louis & dining @ Blood&Sand would be more cost effective, with better food, and without the condescending tones. I just don't get it...

Had our company Christmas party here and everything was excellent! They opened early to accommodate us. The food and drinks were great, and we have a decent number of people who do not drink and were happy with the mocktail options.

Highly recommend! I’ve watched the menu here for a while and planned a parent’s date night based on their fall menu offerings. The food, drinks and atmosphere were all great. Food takes a while to come out as it is prepared fresh. Very thoughtful cuisine and an eclectic blend of flavors married together seamlessly. Again, highly recommend, don’t let the concise menu dissuade you as it may be tiny but mighty.

I waited months to come here for my birthday and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was perfect-intimate, warm, welcoming, and unique. I loved having the open oven fire right there to watch as we ate. The food is all local and absolutely delicious.

What a stunning location and atmosphere for a fancy dinner out for a double birthday celebration. We had a reservation for 7 and all are a variety of different foods. I first tried the beet side and it was good but it didn’t blow my mind. I also got the butternut squash ravioli and the appetizer salad - I’m glad I did because the ravioli was a pretty small portion and I would have left hungry. The salad from the app menu was good! I finished my meal with a dessert float with cognac which was a delight. I love that everything is locally sourced so I definitely can say that but ultimately I have to give 4 stars because I expected to be fuller than I was.

The service was top of the line. I don’t consider myself a deviled egg person but unfortunately that was the best thing brought to my table. The salad greens were soggy, the bruschetta bread wasn’t toasted, the tater tots were tangy and didn’t taste anything like tots. Ambiance is great, cocktails were good, apps were underwhelming and didn’t want to test the high priced entrees if they were even close to the quality of the starters.

Just had the best dining experience! Amazing service, food & drinks. We had the mozzarella & tomatoes to start - highly recommend! Followed by the flank steak, pasta, berry cake and chocolate dessert. There was nothing left on our plates! Absolutely phenomenal and our new favorite KC restaurant. Sharing with everyone - this restaurant should be your next dinner destination!

Historic building with an inviting and interesting vibe.
Food was outstanding. I had the meat loaf & turnips. Both were prepared differently than your standard fare, and both were the best I have ever had.
Menu is regularly updated with new choices.
The service was excellent. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu & how each item was prepared.
Significant off-street parking available adjacent to their building.

Got to try out their delicious BBQ, which is only served on sundays from 11-3. The brisket was thoroughly flavorful while being very tender, featuring plenty of fat. The pork belly was smoky and also fantastic. Both went well with the BBQ sauce, which was less sweet but a little more acidic.
The cheesy grits were a well complementing side.
