Very cool hotel in the main part of KC. The rooms are very unique. Staff was mostly friendly. The bar downstairs was quite a good time. I’d probably stay again on a future visit to KC.

I booked the King Bed Loft Suite for one night to celebrate our anniversary, and given how expensive a single night was, I came away pretty disappointed. To be fair, there's a lot to like about the property itself. The room was spacious, and the hotel as a whole is beautiful and uniquely designed. The bar and lobby in particular have a great aesthetic. The problems were all in the details that actually matter when you're staying in the room. Despite the price, everything inside felt cheap, the couch, the mattress, the sheets, the pillows. We ordered room service (two pastas for over $50), and it arrived in two small takeout containers with plastic utensils, with surprisingly small portions.
The in-room entertainment was the most frustrating part. The TVs had regular cable, with the option to rent a movie for $25 or use a Google Cast feature that made it look like you could access streaming services. I followed every instruction to set this up, which only resulted in filling out surveys, creating accounts, and handing my data over to multiple companies. After all that, I still couldn't access any streaming services, all I ended up with was a remote on my phone .For a hotel at this price point, I'd expect comfort and convenience to be the priority. Unfortunately, I didn't get either.

This hotel was wonderful! We had such a great stay. It was right in the middle of everything easy to walk to or take the tram. The hotel had a downstairs bar and lounge . The vibe was perfect. Also displayed local art around which I loved!

An absolutely amazing experience! The staff is top notch. The service is impeccable from front desk to valet to food. It's a stunning property!

My only issues with this hotel were that our air conditioning did not work. It was 80 in our room and given the middle of the night, it made more sense to just open a window, which we were surprised to find our window opened fully on the 12th floor which violates code. I was thankful for the fresh air yet alarmed by the safety issue. Additionally, the shower water pressure was disappointing.

    Overall, we enjoyed our stay!

We had a hell of a weekend and Grace at the front desk was an absolute angel. She was so accommodating and was so lovely to talk to. She was genuinely interested in what our plans were and was super excited to see the photos I took of the hotel and around town! She made a very crazy weekend a lot easier just by being so sweet. The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the beds were really comfy! The only thing that sucked was the people revving, there super loud engines outside until three in the morning but that does come with being in the heart of downtown.

Hotel Kansas City absolutely exceeded expectations from the moment we walked through the doors. The building itself is stunning, with historic architecture that blends perfectly with modern luxury. The attention to detail throughout the property is impressive, from the beautifully restored lobby to the thoughtful design elements in the rooms.

The room was spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable. The bedding was high quality, the bathroom was well appointed, and everything felt intentional and upscale. One detail that really stood out was the Keurig coffee maker in the room. Having great coffee readily available first thing in the morning made the stay even better. It is those small touches that elevate the experience.

The atmosphere throughout the hotel feels both sophisticated and welcoming. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely helpful. Every interaction felt smooth and accommodating, which made the entire stay effortless.

The location is also a major highlight. Being right in the heart of downtown Kansas City makes it easy to walk to restaurants, entertainment, and nearby attractions. Whether visiting for business or a weekend getaway, it is perfectly situated.

Overall, Hotel Kansas City delivers a true boutique luxury experience. The combination of historic charm, modern comfort, excellent service, and thoughtful in-room amenities like the Keurig coffee makers makes it a place I would absolutely return to and confidently recommend to anyone staying in Kansas City.

Stayed here for a quick family trip with my kids for 2 nights in the city. The suite was very roomy and comfortable. It is an old, historic building but has its own tastes, class, and depth in its pride. Very conveniently located in the center of the downtown, a few blocks from the city rail stops, public library, and close proximity to other many places that attract visitors! The breakfast and coffee drinks at the café was amazing!! (Hands down recommending the French toasts and breakfast sandwiches)
The service was variable ranging from indifferent staff to above-and-beyond top notch managerial staff (Huge kudos to Mr. Davante Hudson for his excellent, professional assistance with impeccable hospitality).

Overall, I would definitely consider visiting this hotel again in the future!

I loved my stay at the Hotel Kansas City as it is a completely renovated grand hotel. The interior design and renovations are absolutely beautiful. Room was very comfortable and upscale. The lobby is gorgeous and I’d stop by for a drink even if I didn’t stay here even.

We stayed in this hotel on a Thursday night, the lobby is really nice and has a great bar. Every person that we spoke to was very nice. We were in room 1414 which is near the top floor, the room was quirky and interesting but, the only window in the room is 9 feet off the floor. You cannot see outside of the room. I didn’t mind it, and it was absolutely silent at night. There’s some photos of an outdoor roof deck, that is not accessible to guests. I assume it’s for some kind of event space or something like that, but you cannot go up and look at the views. The valet parking was perfect and only took a few minutes to grab our car, I don’t really see another way to park other than the valet, I’m sure there is one, but I doubt it would be very convenient. Overall, we had a nice day at the hotel.

Place is great. But the seating arrangement is poorly labeled. If you show up when the lights are out during a set at a concert or something, you're gonna have a bad time looking for your seat. We had 2 separate attendants take us to the wrong seats before we finally looked it up on their site and did it ourselves, they were very nice though, I think it was just hard to find stuff in the darkness. Otherwise, this place is fantastic. Feels like a cousin to the Fabulous Fox in St. Louis.

Very disappointing stay. For the room rates they are asking, you get better service at a Hyatt place or courtyard. My room was filthy. Dirty towels with make up stains. Literally used towels wee in my room. Toiletries were leftover from the previous guest and half used. And the carpet was so dirty it was sticky. I asked for it to be cleaned and I received a bed that was half made at best. Most interactions were forced and I don’t think I saw a single staff member smiling my entire stay outside of the overworked valets. 30 minutes to wait for the car was crazy! I would never stay here again regardless of the location convenience.

We stayed one night and had the absolute best experience! We had drinks at the bar in the lobby and learned from the bartender about the syrups and flavors that are made in-house. We also had a coffee from the lobby, and it was the absolute best coffee I've ever had (again, using syrups that are made in-house). The room and view from our room was stunning. This was a huge improvement compared to the last time we stayed at a Hyatt-owned hotel (The Elms where our room was double booked, someone tried coming into our room at 11pm, and then the front desk called our room to yell at us for being in there). I highly recommend staying at Hotel Kansas City and can't say enough positive things about this hotel - friendly staff, clean rooms, and romantic atmosphere with the beautiful architecture!!

As a wedding photographer who has had the pleasure of working events at Hotel Kansas City several times, I'm absolutely hooked. It's a perfect downtown location. The decor is updated and chic, yet it keeps its historic charm. The rooms are spacious for couples getting ready, and the light is gorgeous. The staff has always been extremely gracious and kind, especially with the hustle and bustle of a wedding day. I've never felt like I was "intruding" and always been welcomed with grace. Wonderful venue - can't wait to come back!

While staying at the hotel, my wife's car was stolen out of valet. The hotel did comp my room. However, management wanted to argue with me about a $66 food bill from the bar. My $18,000 car was stolen while in their possession, but they wanted my $66. The general manager never did take the time to speak to me after the incident. I was there for an additional 2 days (Conference, Mid-America Economic Development) after the car was stolen.

It took 45 minutes for them to steal my wife's car, and no one was checking on the security camera's or monitoring. This, in my opinion, is a huge dereliction on the hotel. I feel if I choose to stay in this type of hotel, my property should be safe, especially when it's in the hotel's possession.

I was attending this conference to help grow my business and was a sponsor for this conference event. However, due to the theft of our vehicle, I spent the entire second day on the phone with the police, our insurance agency, and driving around Kansas City to take care of the situation that the lack of security at the hotel put us in.

This caused me not only to waste money on the sponsorship. The fact that I wasn't able to market to any potential clients and wasn't available to attend the special event held that second day of conference. All in all, this experience cost me tens of thousands of dollars not only in lost personal property but also in potential business that I could have received from spending time at the conference.

I will never stay here again because of the lack of security, the fact that they acted like it wasn't important, and the fact that they wanted to argue with me after tithe fact because they still felt like I owed them something when I left. The food was overpriced, the rooms were small, and the customer service was openly lacking.

    * WEDDING REVIEW *
Hotel Kansas City is an amazing venue. They TRULY care about their clients. This is a VERY rare thing for a hotel wedding venue. This is why I recommend this venue to ALL my clients for their wedding day. Not only are they kind, hospitable, but also so quick to respond to all emails from me, planners, and clients. They are absolutely AMAZING.

They have the most beautiful ballrooms to choose from for your wedding. My favorite place is the Starlight Ballroom. That terrace is out of this world beautiful. The terrace has the best view of Kansas City.

I cannot stress enough how much they are worth the investment for your day. Book them now, do not wait any longer!!!!

Located in the Power and Light district of beautiful downtown Kansas City, as you pull up to this building you know you’ve chosen the right spot to stay. Valet parking is a bonus. As you walk into the lobby, you were overwhelmed with how nice everything is put together. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgeable and check in was a breeze. You notice right away that this hotel takes pride in its hospitality. We had a double queen corner suite on the 12th floor, and the view of the city out the windows was breath taking. The room was put together in such a unique way. Double pull doors that lead you to the closet and bathroom space was a really amazing touch. Room was clean, quiet, and spacious, and we were able to get a very good night sleep. Nighthawk, the bar and music venue that is located in the basement is a great addition to this property. There was Bluegrass in the basement and the band was incredible. They have a small bar food menu and the drink prices weren’t bad at all. There is a full-service restaurant upstairs called The Town Co. I did not have a chance to eat there. I did peruse the menu, and it looked like a great place to eat. There is a coffee bar located in the lobby, and there is a breakfast buffet and it is not complimentary, but it had great options for a great price. If you’d like to treat yourself to five-star hospitality, this is the place to stay in Kansas City.

We had our wedding reception at Hotel Kansas City and it was a dream! Absolutely stunning hotel with gorgeous event spaces. Sicily Mathenia was our event planner through the hotel and she is truly amazing! She is an incredible wedding planner, and made the whole process so easy and organized. She is very thorough and great with communication. She coordinated with all of our vendors coming to the hotel and ensured the setup and event went perfectly. The food for our event was spectacular, and we received a two night complimentary loft suite that was very luxurious. We were able to utilize several of the event spaces for our rehearsal dinner, get ready rooms, and reception, and all of the rooms are unique and gorgeous. Highly recommend this beautiful hotel and Sicily to plan your events!

I am not sure the stay could have been any more perfect than it was. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were amazed at the amazing experience and ambience. The concierge was very welcoming and personable. If we had an issue, it was quickly addressed. Overall, we were extremely impressed with the environment and the amazing rooms, with no issues noted on our end. We will be making this a frequent visit when we are back in the KC area.
