    What makes it fun

At Hotel Phillips, we like to think that our guests get to experience a bit of 1930s luxury, from our speakeasy in the basement to the Goddess of Dawn sculpture in our lobby. Our convenient location means that you're never more than a ten-minute walk from the best that Kansas City has to offer, whether you're looking for culture at the Convention Center or entertainment in the Power & Light District. And when you're ready to head back to the hotel, our free shuttle service will take you wherever you need to go within a two-mile radius.

THE BEST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I have EVER had. Absolutely in love with this place and the staff. Treated myself to this historic hotel for my 53rd bday, and once they learned it was for THAT reason I came, they treated me like royalty. BEAUTIFUL decor, beautiful rooms, and the restaurant and bar are top-notch. THEN, when they learned I needed some medicine refrigerated, they delivered a refrigerator up to my room before I could make it back up to it from down stairs. THEN, yall, got me a birthday carf from the director of Guest Services. Definitely treated me with such honor and respect that I've decided to have my bdsy stay here EVERY YEAR NOW. Will definitely be coming back. The only issue I had here was parking my F150 TREMOR. IT WOULDN'T fit underneath the garage, and parking was not available on the street. Having a small car or Suv is your best be

It's a really cool place. I like the age. The staff were all nice. They did daily room service, wow. The speakeasy was really fun, but rather pricey. They have a temporary gold and diamond reception area with snacks. It serves the needs.

Beautiful historic hotel. Clearly, a lot of time and effort went into the initial restoration. The lobby is quite a pleasant place. The restaurant and bar looked like a newer addition, also comfortable spaces. However, the guest rooms are poorly maintained. Couch looks like it has been pee’d on. Shower curtain rod is falling down.Furniture finishes are deteriorated.Hallways are in poor condition.Cannot believe this is a Curio Collection, or that Hilton allows them to keep this designation.

*PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE POST*. Hotel Phillips was great, beautiful, very historic. Really comfortable bed.Our car was stolen from the valet garage overnight. Please make sure you have the valet put a steering wheel lock on your car if you park. There’s no self parking.Obviously I was very upset that this happened, but Preston, the valet manager was great, as well as Lynda, the hotel manager. I reached out to Hilton as well, and I was satisfied with their response.

Your going to spend a lot for a rundown Hotel. Had two rooms BOTH drains did not drain. The pictures are from the second room, not the first room. Front desk staff was horrible when checking in and out. When we checked out both front desk staff on their phones, never looked up. The first valet guy was awesome and the maintenance guy was nice and got us another room. The cost to what you get was to great… stay at another hotel many other options in the power and lights area.

We loved our stay at this historic hotel. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating. The room was beautiful, though a little small. We got to stop by the Diamond Lounge for a snack and drinks, and had a nice breakfast in the restaurant the next morning. The location was in easy walking distance of the Kauffman Center, where we were in town to see a concert. Very happy with our stay here. We parked in the garage on the same block for $18 per day.

Enjoyed our stay here—really neat old building that still retains its charm even with modern updates. Our room was clean, nicely and simply decorated. The room was quiet, the bed comfortable and the bathroom fairly spacious for its size. the staff was super friendly and helpful. Added bonus is being so close to the streetcar and other attractions. Definitely would stay here again.

As a first timer in KC, this hotel is in a great location. I was in a corner room on a high floor, I'd recommend the same if you can get it. Great view. The hotel in general could definitely use a refresh. Room was nice but the peeling paint, ledges and furniture were noticeably worn. Service was great but professionalism left a lot to be desired. Staff arguments, belching/burping loudly in the lobby should never happen in front of guests. This isn't a 4 or 5 star hotel in my eyes but, it does the trick. Food at the Italian restaurant downstairs is serviceable but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there. The gold/diamond lounge is great. Quick snacks and wine during certain hours. Bring cash for tips. Again, nice stay but manage your expectations.
