What makes it fun

The Leedy-Voulkos Art Center was founded in 1985 by Jim Leedy with the vision of establishing a permanent and thriving art community in Kansas City. Its mission is to showcase world-class artwork by Kansas City's creative community of painters, sculptors, ceramicists, photographers, designers, printmakers, craftsmen, and others. We provide fascinating exhibitions by worldwide, national, and regional artists, but our primary goal is to encourage students and local artists in order to maintain Kansas City's exceptional creatives.

Lots of little galleries in this space. Saw some incredible shows when I went for Firat Friday recently (October 2024). This place has been around for ever, and always a must-see for First Fridays.

The Art Center was a perfect venue for my dear friends' wedding! The layout is very interesting and open. I also really enjoyed the exhibitions at the time by Dora Agbas and Rena Wood.

Such a fun, eclectic space ranging from large gallery rooms to nooks, crannies, and basements. There were multiple exhibits to see, all quite different from each other. Really enjoyed it!
