We have loved everything we've ordered at this restaurant and the service is spectacular. The prix fixe lunch for first Friday fell a little short of expectations. Pretty ordinary fare and the fish entree was tough and chewy. Everything else good but not fabulous.

We had the most incredible experience at Novel. I wouldn’t change anything about the food, it was perfection. I feel like this place is kind of like a well kept secret; I can’t believe I haven’t heard about it until last week. But probably the best part about Novel was the service, our waiter Nick has been working here for years and had amazing recommendations. Overall 1000000/10 recommend!

Meal: Bread Service, Agnolotti, Ravioli, Lamb Chop and Sausage, Chicken Roulade Drinks: Sun of a Gun, Back in My Day The meal started off very strong with the bread service with butter and hummus. The hummus was served with olive oil and spices and was our favorite thing of the night. The pasta courses were very good. The agnolotti was seasoned well and the ravioli had a nice smokey flavor with walnuts. I wish we had stopped the meal there. The main courses were the worst we've had in Kansas City. The lamb was undercooked to the point where the outside was seared nicely but the internal temperature was not warm. The lamb sausage was cold and looked like they pulled it from the fridge and threw it on the grill for ten seconds. The best thing on the plate was the cucumber gaufrette, and really that translates to pickles. The roulade was not a traditional roulade and probably shouldn't use the term in its name at all. It was chicken breast with a sausage-like filling. The risotto was made with long grain white rice which threw the entire texture off. The broccoli on the plate was cooked well. Drinks were fine. Will not revisit and will not recommend. Feels outdated and uncreative. (Included photos of the pasta because they were very nice.)

This is a great place to dine for a nice dinner. Good cocktails and great entrees. I always have a good time coming here. I really enjoyed their tar tar. Definitely a top 10 fine dining spot in KC.

We had dinner at Novel while my friends were in town, and it was honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Kansas City. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Attentive without being overbearing, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely welcoming. The food was incredible. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell there’s real intention behind the menu. The drinks were just as impressive, well crafted and perfectly balanced. In my opinion, Novel is easily one of the absolute best restaurant options in Kansas City. If you’re looking for a spot that delivers on service, food, and overall experience, this is it.

The food at this restaurant is top notch. Above and beyond most all KC restaurants. We had a lovely dinner. We started with butternut squash soup and tartare. Both were so good, it was insane. For dinner we had scallops and the lamb, just INCREDIBLE. Everything on our plates was just delicious. I'm quite sure no matter what you ordered.It would be perfect. It just top of the top notch restaurants.

Stopped in during KC Restaurant week. This was our first time here. We were warmly greeted upon entry and sat promptly. Our server Shelby was great. The course selections for this menu were varied and should appeal to most people. The space is nice and energetic. We will return for their regular menu.

Amazing experience. Top notch food and service from top to bottom. we were recommended this restaurant via wine rep and did not disappoint. Chef Ryan and his team are impeccable, from the presentation of the dishes through and through to the flavors. The wines accomplished the dishes so well everything sang in harmony together. As a chef looking for an experience this was it. Novel hit every mark i was hoping for, from food to wine and hospitality alone. Their hospitality in our unfortunate night was top tier as well. Thank you to the kictchen staff and our server Trey as well. Top notch service, food, cocktails and wine program. You’re missing out by not dining at this establishment.

A very cute and quaint little place. Food was amazing and so were the drinks! We tried the polenta appetizer, a pasta dish and the halibut. Not pictures is the bread and their delicious butter & hummus and we also got a taster of the crab bisque and a salad. They do spread dishes out a bit so you do not feel rushed which is nice.

If you are looking for a truly gourmet experience in Kansas City this gem meets the need. Lobster ravioli and pork rib chop were our choices and did not disappoint! Trey provided exceptional guidance and knowledge.

Great dining experience and far better than what I experienced yesterday in McCook Nebraska. This is the quality five star experience only few truly know. I’ve been wanting to try this place since it opened, but we’re blessed with good restaurants in KC, and I can’t believe I haven’t tried it yet. Went for restaurant week and everything was delicious and had great service. Our server helped us make good picks throughout and shared his love of wine. The standout was the lobster ravioli, the pasta was cooked to perfection. I’ll be back!

Quite a busy place, mostly has two seaters, rightfully so. Was a bit disappointed in not finding items seen on Google Photos associated with the business, but the menu changed occasionally, I was told. Current Menu is available at novelkc site. The food was good. All of them were new to me, except the deserts, which were more familiar. From the menu, Tartare, Duroc, Walleye, Ramen, Pistachio, and Pineapple Upside Down.

The atmosphere and service in this place is amazing. We did the “shareable” Experience and was fun. The food.. well I have mixed feelings. We order three appetizers; the crudo, Brussels sprouts and the farm egg. All three appetizers were phenomenal, my fav was the crudo. From the second course, we ordered the ravioli, great! Now the entrees, were not as great. We ordered the scallops, chicken and pork chop. The presentation was beautiful but i have to say I was very dissatisfied with the flavor. The scallops were overcooked, and had a strong seasoning that I couldn’t figure out. Wasn’t able to finish one. The chicken… did not like it at all. Didn’t taste fresh and had no flavor except for the glaze. The pork chop, also flavorless, and so hard… now the spicy pork belly on the plate was really good. A very good experience, I don’t think I’m returning but glad I tried it.

A hidden gem in a beautiful hotel. This is my second time here and can say the food and craft cocktails are great. Their diverse menu offer everyone something they can enjoy. I sat at the bar and Larry did a fantastic job of making me a classic old fashioned.
