The Harlow, located in the Kansas City Crossroads Art District, is housed in a beautifully and mindfully restored 1909 building which was originally an automobile dealership. Its stunning interior was created to blend the past and the present. White, grey, and navy accents, contemporary lighting, and modern furniture complement the original wood floor, beams, skylights, and exposed brick. This combination results in a chic urban loft space unlike any other in Kansas City. The Harlow can facilitate 175 seated guests, indoor ceremonies, and up to 250 cocktail guests.

As an interfaith wedding rabbi and officiant, I have had the privilege of officiating weddings in many remarkable venues over the years. What made The Harlow stand out was its wonderful balance of historic character and creative possibility. From the moment guests entered through the charming garden entrance and made their way into the venue, there was a sense that this was not simply an event space. The original hardwood floors, exposed brick walls, soaring ceilings, and expansive windows gave the venue a personality that immediately set it apart. Every detail reflected the building's history while creating an atmosphere that felt vibrant, welcoming, and thoroughly contemporary. As someone who spends a great deal of time observing how a venue shapes the experience of a wedding, I appreciated that The Harlow never overwhelms a celebration with its design. Instead, it provides a beautiful and authentic backdrop that allows each couple's vision to take center stage. The space has character, yet it remains wonderfully flexible, making every wedding feel unique. What I remember most was the light. The large windows and skylights filled the venue with natural light throughout the day, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that evolved beautifully as the celebration unfolded. As evening arrived and the lights of downtown Kansas City began to glow beyond the windows, the venue took on an entirely different but equally memorable character. The location in the Crossroads Arts District added another layer to the experience. There was an energy and creativity to the surroundings that complemented the venue perfectly, giving guests a sense of being part of one of Kansas City's most distinctive neighborhoods. The staff was professional, attentive, and a pleasure to work with throughout the event. Their hospitality and attention to detail helped ensure that everything unfolded smoothly and allowed the couple and their guests to fully enjoy the celebration. I would gladly recommend The Harlow to any couple looking for a wedding venue that combines historic character, urban sophistication, abundant natural light, and a genuine sense of place. I had a wonderful experience having my wedding and reception at The Harlow. I worked with Chloe, who was amazing from start to finish. It was especially nice to see her on the wedding day, having a familiar face who truly understood my vision made everything feel seamless. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the location is wonderful. Many of our guests were able to walk or take the streetcar, which was a huge plus. We received so many compliments on this unique space! We chose to have both our ceremony and reception here, and while I was initially a little worried about the venue flip, everything went perfectly. Highly recommend!

We remodeled our church and we're out of our auditorium for 22 Sunday's. Because of the relationship between our lead pastor and Matt Abbot, who owns The Harlow and The Abbott, we were able to continue to have Sunday services for our members and guests. Everyone at both venues were extremely kind and generous to us during the time we were out of our church. If you are looking for a venue to have an event, You can't go wrong in choosing The Harlow or The Abbot. The staff will do anything possible to insure your event is a success. The Harlow was the perfect venue for our winter wedding! My husband and I visited countless venues, and The Harlow was the one we both walked out of saying we wanted to get married at. The historic industrial vibe with wood floors, beams, brick walls, and the amazing freight elevator were exactly what we wanted. We of course had plenty of decor for the ceremony and reception, but we didn't need much since the venue was so beautiful! It truly was the perfect backdrop for our dream wedding, and we can't wait to see all the pictures of just how perfect the space looked. We absolutely loved having our wedding there and would highly recommend to anyone searching for a venue in the downtown KC area!

The Harlow was such a beautiful venue to host our event for our daughter. The staff was nothing but helpful throughout the entire process. I hope to be able to attend someone else's event there in the future just to experience it again. Highly recommend.

I cannot say enough great things about The Harlow. We had our wedding there 9/4/21 and it was a wonderful experience. We started planning about a year out, and everyone was a pleasure to work with and patiently answered my many questions. The venue manager, Sarah. S., was a dream come true. She was immensely helpful and just added to the joy of our day. I don't know what we would have done without her - she was a rockstar. It was affordable, beautiful, and everyone there went above and beyond to make our day perfect. Being an LGBTQIA+ couple, we obviously wanted and needed to make sure we were getting married in an inclusive space. From the very first meeting, there was no question we were in a great place. There was not an ounce of judgement, which made us able to truly enjoy this entire experience.
