Love the Truitt hotel! The ambiance itself is very cozy and it is located in close walking distance of so many desirable KC locations. Its just down from the Nelson Atkins Museum and the Kemper for modern art. From either of these locations the Plaza is just a short walk away- definitely recommend staying and enjoying the neighboring attractions

TL:DR: Toilet closet in room with bed, slotted doors used like a floor to ceiling saloon door? Images I posted marked as spam, so couldn't include those. No staff on sight to help as far as I could tell during my one night stay. Original review was flagged as spam with the images for some mysterious reason, reposting without images.If you book through a third party, don't expect to receive the vital email that tells you a) where parking is, and 2) how to even access the hotel at all. Because as far as I could tell in the one night I was there...there wasn't any staff? You ring the doorbell cam and no one answers, you need to call the number listed on the little plaque hanging above the useless doorbell cam?You get the code, hope the door doesn't argue with you too much and there's a little entry way, a little entry room with coffee and a bathroom, a hallway, and staircase leading to more rooms, and two lounge like rooms...but no people. No staff. No convenient access to help if you need it?Honestly I think I coulda brushed all that nonsense aside until I saw the BATHROOM! In the pictures included, the tiny tiny room with the toilet is in the same room as the bed, and it has SLOTTED DOORS! As in you sit down for privacy? Naw, you can see everything. The people outside can't see everything, but that doesn't help much. The room with the shower and sinks was as big, if not bigger, than the room with the bed and toilet, so i can only imagine why they chose to place the TOILET in the rook with the bed instead of the room where a toilet belongs???? And to use those types of zero privacy doors, no less. The choice of toilet closet is what earned the Truitt my low score.It also doesn't seem ADA accessible at all, but I haven't done any research into that, so I'm hopefully missing something. But there didn't seem to be any way to avoid stairs in the building I was in. there was even a step between the bed room and the shower room.P.S. I posted this once the charges had been fully posted, nothing is pending, as in the room has been cleared by hotel workers and the card was appropriately charged. Any new charges that might appear will be seen as retaliatory. Something that happened to me years ago, now I'm just precautions!

Absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel itself is adorable and our room was so elegantly decorated. Clean and very spacious. The bed was super comfortable and the welcome note when we arrived was a great way to start our stay. I loved the no fuss check in and check out. We will definitely stay the next time we are in KC.

My favorite place I have ever stayed, hands down! My partner and I booked the king bedroom and upon arrival we had been upgraded to the two bedroom suite. The check in process was great and the property is gorgeous. Everything about our stay was perfect, thank you!

Wonderful Time at The Truitt. Fun Rooms and great location. 5 stars??? I don't think so. It deserves more. How about a whole constellation. Book here for a great experience if you are local or out of town.

I recently started traveling to KC once a month for business. I am blown away by every detail at The Truitt. The day of check in I receive an email with the main door code, my room number, and code to my room. The Truitt is truly unique and unlike big chain hotels. Ryan took the time to help me fix a booking issue through a different site and on Sunday he helped me figure out getting the room a tad bit warmer. Thank you so much! You are doing a great job!

My wife and I recently enjoyed staying at The Truitt, which left a lasting impression on us. From the moment we arrived, we were touched by the hospitality of David and Ryan as well as impressed by the ambience and experience they’ve created at The Truitt.The decor of the hotel was simply stunning. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered, from the elegant furnishings to the beautiful artwork on the walls.Overall, I would highly recommend The Truitt to anyone looking for a truly exceptional experience. The staff, decor, and ambience all exceeded my expectations, and we are already looking forward to my next visit.

This is by far the best boutique hotel I have ever stayed at. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have surprisingly so much room. I had a room with a large enclosed patio and my friend got a room with a little seating area. We got in super late and had to leave really early every morning we were here. I wish we could have spent more time here because the common areas are so rad.I have never stayed at a hotel that has comfortable beds and yet the Truitt has managed to make this stay even more comfortable by making sure you get a good nights rest. They left a hand written note and a box of chocolates for us, Christopher Elbow, if I’m not mistaken. It was such a sweet touch, I’ve never fell in love with a place as much as I did here.This is a must stay, better than any hotel in the area! So cozy and cute, I wish there were more hotels likes this one. It would be perfect for anyone visiting Kansas City!

Everything about The Truitt is phenomenal. The rooms are really comfortable and interesting, the floors area clean. The owners are really nice and very helpful. When you walk in the set up and the music makes you just instantly in a better mood. I would rate 100 stars if it was an option. Highly recommended to stay here.

We had to be down in Kansas City due to a death in the family and we searched all over for hotels and this one just stood out. It is beyond beautiful and gives you more of a cozy at home feel that you don’t usually get at other hotels. Everything down to the shampoo and conditioner they provide was just simply amazing. The chocolates and hand written note from the owners is a super kind gesture and it definitely makes you feel like they genuinely care about your comfort when you stay. I will definitely come back and recommend this to my friends and family! Thank you so much Ryan and David, you made this sad weekend much easier!

We stayed to celebrate our 21st wedding anniversary this past Thursday evening. We were blown away as soon as we pulled up, and continued to be as we explored the hotel and then our suite. Holy cow, the Truitt is perfect!!It is so apparent that the owners put so much thought and consideration into making it a fantastic and functional place to stay- from the outdoor sitting area to the gorgeous indoor gathering areas, to the perfect private suite. We will absolutely be back and have been sharing about this hidden gem with friends and family!Our stay here helped to make our celebration even more special!
