I’ve only been once. Drinks were good but nothing to write home about.
The staff was so rude, I thought it was part of their shtick, like Gates yelling at you to order.
The KC Star published an article about the owners abhorrent behavior, so I’ll never go back there.

Awesome cozy spot — dark, intimate, and easy to lose track of time in. The bartender was friendly and genuinely creative with the drinks. Relaxed vibe that makes you forget the outside world for a while.

Drastic Measures lives up to the hype. I go here for the tremendous skill of the bartenders and their commitment to creating new and exciting cocktails.
For example, Brett, on the job for a month, was able to take my description of the things I liked about prior menu items to create an excellent rum cocktail with apple smoke notes from scratch.
Those who trust their bartenders here will find diamonds that they'd never get a chance to experience elsewhere

This place is a better cocktail bar than some internationally renowned cocktail bars!
They consistently deliver and add fun menu items! Definitely should be on your list of you are visiting the area too!

I ordered the Measured Approach. When I inquired about the bourbon used in this drink, the bartender needed to ask 2 people to find out. I was told it was Wlld Turkey to which I responded, "a single barrel" I was told 101. That seems to be an inferior burbon for a $15 cocktail and the fact the bartender didn't know the ingredients was not what I was expecting. The whole experience was underwhelming. Seemed to be promoted as much more of an exclusive/unique experience.

This place is one of the best hidden gems if you care about atmosphere and good energy. It’s tucked away in a great area in Lenexa, and the experience starts the moment you walk in. You enter a small private entry space, then buzz into the main bar, which immediately sets the tone.
The lighting is dim, the environment is controlled, and it never feels overcrowded. You can actually have a conversation without competing with noise, which is rare. It’s the kind of place where you can genuinely connect with someone and enjoy the moment.
The drinks are exceptional. You can tell real intention and care goes into each one. Nothing feels rushed or generic. The guys running it are down-to-earth, and that energy carries through the entire space.
It’s easily one of the most relaxed and comfortable environments I’ve been in. I keep going back for a reason.

I love this cocktail bar - the service is always friendly and the drinks are great. They have a wide variety on the menu, and it's always changing so you can try something new every time. Make sure to eat beforehand because the drinks are strong

Absolutely in LOVE with Drastic Measures. Such a cozy and intimate Speakeasy. The service was amazing and they have a vast drink menu. Very unique cocktails. Highly recommend and will for sure be back soon.

Loved the inclusive vibe and atmosphere. The sign on the door outside tells you it’s going to be a safe space for you and your neighbors. The bartenders are friendly, attentive, and highly skilled. Ask about their mocktails that are off menu if you’re in the mood for something refreshing at the end of the night. All of the drinks I saw come out were gorgeous and delicious. If you’re going on the weekend, things seemed to slow down after 9:00 pm, so keep that in mind if you’re looking for a time to go when you won’t have as much of a wait. 10/10, no notes, definitely go!

Waited outside for 45 minutes. In that time we saw 4 women (3 together, and another ten minutes later getting dropped off by a Lyft) cut the line and walk right inside. They didn't come back out in those 45m so they must have been sat and served.
Meanwhile we saw over the course of that 45 minute wait, 2 groups of two leave... And the line never moved. I get the impression these people got their James Beard and think they don't need to worry about service anymore.

My husband and I love Drastic. The staff are all wonderful, and when they aren't busy (which is rare) they are great to talk with. We got to the point where we had tried all but one drink on the summer 2023 menu (the flavor profile scared us😅), and told this to one of the owners. They explained to us, that if we enjoyed every other drink on the menu, to trust them. They do team meetings to build out every new menu, and it has to go through 5 palettes to get approved. So we ordered the drink and it was one of our favorites. They love what they do, so if you have a question about one of the drinks, ask. Also know, it's not a full bar type place. If you want to "order off the menu", it will be their take on the drink. But don't do that, you can get a vodka soda anywhere.

Drastic Measures Craft Cocktails exceeded expectations! Each round, from Karpas to Latke, delighted our taste buds. The Sufganiyot, Rugelach, and other concoctions were flavorful and inventive. Jay and the staff showcased exceptional service, enhancing our overall experience. Cheers to a memorable night of delicious cocktails and outstanding hospitality!

Drastic Measures is a spectacular bar with a captivating speakeasy vibe. The entrance with an old-fashioned knock on the door if the light is green is a charming touch that sets the tone for a memorable experience. Inside, the dim lighting creates an intimate atmosphere that makes you forget about the outside world. The service throughout the visit was impeccable and made me feel like a valued guest. But the true standout at Drastic Measures is the creative and delicious drink menu. The mixologists have created fantastic cocktails that I've never tasted before. My personal favorite was the "College dropout," which tasted like a perfect mix of spices and alcohol. If you're looking for a sophisticated and enjoyable night out, Drastic Measures should be at the top of your list.

Great atmosphere. Personal feel. Edgy drinks, with a prohibition flair. They make you feel as though the drink was made just for you. You want to to try something new, however, they are generous with their pours! A must try... hidden gem for Shawnee.
Definitely will come again.

Had a delightful night with a dear friend, enjoying specialty cocktails during the Drastic Mensches event in December, supporting the Jewish community of greater KC. I have most definitely never seen a Rabbi light a menorah and offer blessings in a bar before! It was absolutely beautiful and fantastic.
This is an outstanding local business that gives back to our community in meaningful ways. Plus, they KNOW cocktails!

The wait is worth it if your into drink unique gourmet cocktails. The atmosphere is very calm and with lights kept dim makes for a great date night experience. Definitely going back! Also they make a mean old fashioned!

Very delicious and creative cocktails with friendly staff. Some nicer cocktail places try to create wildly unique drinks, but they end up tasting less than desirable. Not here! Everything we ordered was delicious and had great flavor, but was also unique and creative. Open seating at the bar, but definitely make reservations if you want a table.
