Finding a pure, unironic, old-school jazz joint these days feels like hunting for a needle in a haystack. But if you’re in Kansas City, it’s hiding in plain sight at the Green Lady Lounge.
Go for the music and the atmosphere, not the fancy mixology. Stick to a classic highball or a simple beer, sit back, and let the live organ trio do the heavy lifting. KC jazz at its absolute finest.

Visited from out of town. Was in town for a wedding but spent my sister's bday here at night just chilling out for the night. You don't have jazz clubs in Dallas so this was a treat. Great vibe. Laid back. Came here twice during our stay in town. An intimate spot for a date. Would recommend.

Great ambience. Wide variety crowd ( all ages and styles of dress ). Live smooth jazz. Very MidCebtury (1930-1960) feel. Upstairs and downstairs. Comfy booths sit right for listening and socializing. Delicious high quality drinks. The chocolate cake is always recommend and very rich.

Crowded in the best of ways. Love music upstairs and down. We have a big booth with a server who checked in regularly, and the cocktails were great. Best espresso martini I've ever had and there was a gin drink that's escaping me, but it was really good too. Make sure you too the staff AND the band if you go! It's two different line items on the check and they deserve to get some $$$.

With the cover and tip $30 for the most disappointing Old Fashioned I've ever had. Seriously, a whole slice of raw orange, a bright red marschino and little bitty ice cubes, no bitters but plenty of simple syrup. It was so bad I just left, though the music was awesome. Yes I still tipped, because that's what adults do, but sometimes I really don't want to be an adult.

Def a cool place to visit n have a night out at if you’re into the gothic vampy (downstairs) or the chill lowkey (upstairs) vibes. Had cute live jazz music going on both floors. Main gripe about this place was how rude the doorman was. Left a bad impression on service here.

This hidden Gem is located in the heart of Downtown KC! Not only do they offer excellent musicians to keep you entertained, the atmosphere is like a trip back in time. The moody lightning, antiqued decor and friendly staff offer the type of welcoming that is hard to find. The size and variety of their drink menu is impressive which includes many Mocktails as options. I love that the music is played throughout the evenings starting at 6pm, which is a refreshing change to waiting at most bars for a band to start by 9pm. The seating is cozy and allows for you to just enjoy the music or to meet friends for a gathering. Highly recommend this place to any local or visitor to Kansas City!

This place is a vibe! It gives off cool speakeasy vibes which I love. The band was awesome and the drinks just as good. I heard abt them when I was in KC last year and told myself if I ever came back I’d definitely check the out and glad I did, so worth it.

If you love Jazz music this is definitely the place for you! $5 bucks per person to get in. Tons of seats available depending on your mood get cozy on a couch or sit back in a chair. Eat the cheesecake you won't be disappointed! Tried the pink lady it was very sour couldn't get it all down. My friend loved the mules tho! Love that they stay open until 1am! Fun place to visit on a date or with your friends. The music will soothe your soul! The musicians are amazing!

Nice little hole in the wall bar with an unassuming exterior. A unique style of cocktails that all comes together well. A must visit when you're in the area.
The bartenders here are great as well!

This is about the coolest jazz club I have had the pleasure of visiting. Oozing atmosphere, old school club vibes, iconic, full of history, and of course top notch jazz - on two stages! - thank you Kansas City for keeping this treasure alive and thriving. Will be back for more jazz and fancy cocktails whenever I come to town.

This lounge was incredible! There aren’t many jazz bars where I’m from so this was something out of my dreams! It has both an upstairs and downstairs with different bands playing so you can have two different vibes going. It was pretty busy when we showed up at 7 so be sure to get there early if you would like a seat! There is room to stand which is also nice. The atmosphere is amazing and I can’t wait to come back here.

The bar itself is well maintained. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is superb if you like jazz. They have live jazz bands playing original music on both the first floor and the basement at all times. This place is a wonderland for anyone looking to relax and sip a martini. I had the old fashioned myself but either way you are in for a treat at this lovely little lounge.
