This is a must stop gem for a date night or just to kick back and have fun. He blends upbeat fun times with music that hits your soul. He also teaches you about the history of jazz in kansas city and really about how each song came to be. This was a genuinely a fun time that I wish would have lasted longer. The band was equally amazing as Lonnie!!!

You don’t need to fly to Las Vegas or New York to celebrate a birthday or anniversary! Lonnie’s Reno Club is such an entertaining and unique jazz experience right here in Kansas City. Jazz for relaxing, jazz for excitement—and so much more! The atmosphere, talented and well-trained staff, variety of live jazz, storytelling, and even tap dancing make every visit memorable. The food is delicious, too! My husband and I aren’t everyday jazz fans—we sometimes randomly choose a jazz bar for a special night out and quality time together. That’s how we discovered Lonnie’s. We all know the famous jazz legend Charlie Parker, but did you know he was born right here in Kansas City, Kansas? Also, "John Coltrane" we heard at first time from Lonnie's story time. Thank you for lecture. lol Whether you’re a jazz beginner, a longtime fan, or simply looking for a fun and memorable night out, Lonnie’s has something for everyone. Highly recommended!

This place is an ABSOLUTE MUST! A jazz club is a special place to be but Lonnie, the band and everyone at Lonnie’s Reno Club made this truly a ONE OF A KIND experience! There wasn’t one part of the show I didn’t enjoy, I feel like I had a smile on my face the entire time. The joy and passion Lonnie exudes is contagious and incredible. The entire band is uniquely talented and I feel honored to have witnessed such beautiful music, raw talent and real history. I loved the location, jazz club vibes and food was just enough. Do not leave Kansas City without coming to Lonnie’s Reno Club!

Wow! Lonnie's swings, shuffles, and grooves its way into an indelible, old-school jazz experience. The food is very good, well-served and well-cooked, but could have had one or two more options for dessert or appetizers. My Vieux Carre cocktail was on point and very satisfying. My salmon was cooked perfectly and the brussels sprouts were among the best I have ever had. My wife's beef wellington was wonderful. Even then, the food is on a bit of a lower tier than everything else. The vibe is upscale but inviting and harkens back to the 50's. This place demands class and one should come dressed for the occasion. The servers are attentive and the food comes quickly. Mr. Lonnie is a wonderful frontman, replete with talent, energy, and contagious joy. He performs with such giddy eagerness that you'd think it's his first show and also with such intense focus that you'd think it's his last. He and the band were stunning. Our family treated us to this wonderful evening for our anniversary, and it was one we will treasure for years to come.

You have not enjoyed a Jazz club until you have experience Lonnie's Reno Club. I took my mom here for her birthday she enjoyed herself the band was amazing! Lonnie has so much energy. Definitely a night to remember cheers to making the best memories!

I have never in my 61 years as a KC resident had as nice an experience as I had tonight At Lonnie's Reno Club. I don't think there's much I can add to that.

Lonnie and his band put on a Wonder show. Me and my wife went spur of the moment -a night out with no kids isn't something we've had in a long while. Lonnie did not disapoint. I haven't listened to such wonderful jazz in a long time a couple songs brought me back to being in fostercare. For something that was spur of the moment we made some memories and revised a few others. I wished I had dressed better for the atmosphere. They were kind and gracious and even commented when I spoke up about being underdressed that there wasn't a dress code. But this place deserves one.

Highly recommend if you live in KC or are visiting. Lonnie and his band are superb. Very engaging with the audience and great music. Dinner and wait staff are excellent. You won't be disappointed.

This is one of Kansas City‘s hidden gems. Lonnie McFadden is a treasure and incredibly entertaining. While the fixed menu food is good (not great), any shortcoming is made up for by Lonnie and the band. While not an inexpensive night out, keep in mind you’re paying for a uniquely Kansas City evening, If you want to impress and/or be impressed, run to Lonnie’s Reno Club. It’s something to be experienced!

Our first trip to Kansas City and this was a great show! The service was great and we enjoyed the pre fixe menu. Food was mostly really good, but can’t say all dishes were great. Overall, we would go here over and over for the full experience of an amazing performance by Lonnie McFadden and his band, who are young, accomplished musicians on their own. Lonnie is high energy, tells stories, highlights his band members, performs a variety that will not disappoint (including tap dancing) and engages with every single audience member. It is an intimate room with great history on the walls and great acoustics.

What a fantastic night of entertainment! Lonnie's band killed it, and the level of showmanship and engaging the audience was high energy for a jazz club. The service and the food were both good as well. The club is relatively small, with more of an upscale restaurant feel. Not a bar.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here last night. We were absolutely blown away by this place! Service, food, drinks, ambiance, environment, decor, and of course the entertainment! Incredible! The talent of these musicians gave me goosebumps and just filled my soul! True artists! This is now one of my new favorite places and I can’t wait to go again!

Lonnie brings the history and vibe of KC Jazz to life... and man oh man, is his energy contagious! The depth & rhythm that Andrew, Tyree & Zach add to the mix made our Anniversary night unforgettable. You will hear songs that you thought you knew by heart take on an entirely new life just by their enthusiasm, timing and artistry. It was truly incredible. The menu choices are limited but the food and service was on point. They did a great job not distracting us from the entertainment. We've enjoyed watching Lonnie perform at so many places around KC over the years. But if you ever want to experience what jazz clubs were like back in the day, then you have to put the Reno Club on your list. This is where Lonnie & his band (and the KC Jazz scene) were meant to be.

Lonnie's Reno Club is a happening place. A great vibe, fantastic cocktails, a fun and delicious menu and on top of it a floor show. Lonnie McFadden a KC legend has enough energy for 10 people. The musicians he surrounds himself with are second to none. Lonnie's stories of his legendary family and his own personal jazz journey is the true reason to not miss going. Downstairs in the Ambassador Hotel is the speakeasy that is reminiscent of earlier days. With photos of Jazz greats from KC. We are going to go back for sure. Rumor has it a true jazz jam session will be starting soon on a week night. If you love to see an entertainer own the room and give more energy to a performance then you maybe have ever seen. Book a reservation to see Lonnie and band at the Reno Club. You will have fun.
