If you love restaurants with history and character, The Savoy is a must-visit in downtown Kansas City! Located inside the historic Hotel Savoy, this restaurant dates back to 1903 and feels like stepping back in time. Between the stained glass windows, beautiful murals, and elegant atmosphere, it's one of KC's most unique dining experiences. We visited for date night and absolutely loved it! The Cacio e Pepe was a favorite, and whatever you do, don't skip the bread and butter! Their menu also features steaks, seafood, creative cocktails, and even a Girl Dinner option for a fun night out. Here's a cool fact: President Harry S. Truman was a regular, and you can still see his favorite booth, No. 4! The Savoy was also named America's Best Historic Restaurant in 2023. Whether you're visiting Kansas City or planning a special night out, The Savoy is worth experiencing for both the food and the history!

Such a delicious and fun experience! 🍸🦪 We started with oysters & an amazing lemon drop martini. The pork osso buco special was a show stopper. It was so unexpected. The Steak Frites did not disappoint! Cooked perfectly, Everything was absolutely delicious. The service at the bar was fantastic! Our waitress was also very friendly, but the only downside was that she would take drink orders from half the table and never make it back around for the rest, which was a little frustrating. That being said, the food, cocktails, and atmosphere made for an incredible evening! We had such a great time and would absolutely go back! 🥂

Recent transplant to KC and tonight (9-27-26) was our second time dining at the Savoy. We had Nick taking care of us both times - and he provided exceptional service both times. From being able to explain the history of the building to the finer points about their (fantastic) cocktails, Nick was great. Food absolutely surpassed our expectations. Their smashburger is likely the best I’ve had in KC (with possible competition from Muni about a mile away - check that out!) and my wife’s bolognese was to die for. The Milk Punch and Truman cocktails are worth your time. Try to sit at the President’s Booth if you can - and have Nick explain the history! (Sat Regan, Ford, Harding, but is named after Truman). We haven’t sat at the bar just to drink (although we will remedy that soon) - but the bartenders obviously know their stuff - and they have old silent movies playing behind the bar. The vibe of this place is off the charts, and thankfully the food and cocktails are fantastic!!!

The service was always professional. The cocktails were great. Breakfast was terrible. I received a bowl of lukewarm, undercooked oats and mushy, brownish berries. I sent it back and ordered a muffin and bowl of fruit. The muffin was stale and the fruit wasn’t fresh.

We had an excellent experience at The Savoy! We were with friends for a joint anniversary dinner. Our server Julian was so attentive and seemed genuinely delighted to be part of our celebration. We all enjoyed the atmosphere, and were seated in a cozy high backed booth that made for easy conversation, although the restaurant was already pretty quiet on a Sunday evening. Amongst our table we had a variety of cocktails and a mix of entrees including the poached salmon, smash burger and cacio e pepe, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We also decided to split a bottle of wine for the table and though none of us are wine connoisseurs, we had a great time chatting with the sommelier Alex who led us to an excellent bottle that fit the bill perfectly. Great atmosphere, great food, great service

Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere, service, food and cocktails. My favorites here are the espresso martini, caesar salad, the dinner rolls and the duck fat fries. I also tried their affogato and I loved it. Everything was 10/10

Last night of restaurants week in KC: We were able to procure the small private dining room which was both comfy and quiet. We had the price fixed menu. My hangar steak was excellent and I would highly recommend it. Our waiter was attentive along with all of the wait staff. The separate dining room made it very easy for us to have conversation. When we go to a nice restaurant I often think it's good but not worth the money. Not so tonight; A good value for the money. A nice experience for us!

I wanted to visit this restaurant for years. I really enjoy trying new restaurants. My wife brought me here for my birthday. We made reservations for 7 pm. We arrived around 6:45. When we arrived the restaurant wasn't busy. We were seated quickly and looked over the menu. I was torn between steak and the burger, but I ordered a steak and fries. My wife ordered pasta. We enjoyed the atmosphere, and I googled the restaurant. It appears this is one of the oldest restaurants and hotels in Kansas City. It said after a fire the place was closed 2 years for remodeling. I enjoyed finding the history of the Savoy. Our food arrived and we were impressed. My steak and fries were magnificent. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal. When we were finished, our server (kyle) said dessert was of them for my birthday. I chose the chocolate cake. The cake was incredible! I really enjoyed the restaurant, and Kyle said we could look at the hotel lobby. This is a definite must-see if you are visiting KC. This is also a must if you are a local! I look forward to returning to try that smash burger...

Annual reservation for Kansas City Restaurant Week and it never disappoints! Plot twist in this visit was that we all actually ordered off the regular menu. Guess I'll have to return to indulge 😋again.. Staff was personable and impeccable to our needs!

The specialty cocktails are so interesting. Ingredients that I’ve never heard of before are used in some. Love the atmosphere and the waitstaff was super attentive. The scallops on the happy hour menu melted in my mouth as they were flown in fresh from Novia Scotia. The fries are some of the best fries I’ve ever had! They are fried to perfection and rolled in duck fat. The Cesar salad was incredible! The smash burger was a bit over cooked but still very well flavored. We walked through the art gallery after with our wine. Will be back on my next visit.

The food and drinks are works of art. Staff and servers are very kind and attentive. Fine dining in a museum like setting. You will not be disappointed. Probably the best Manhattan I’ve ever had.

The setting is wonderful here, I felt like I was dining in a midieval castle dining hall. The giant penguins snapped me back to present day though. Our server was great and offered wonderful suggestions for our meal. I had the skirt steak and my wife had the chicken. When I say that it was one of the most delicious chicken dishes we have ever had, believe me. The quality of that chicken and the way it was prepared was literally perfect! The cocktails were also great and reasonably priced. If you are in Kansas City I highly recommend you stop by to enjoy a meal, order the chicken!

We got two savory crepes at Chez Elle; the bonjour and the monsieur. I ordered an iced coffee and added some cream. I can’t wait to come back and try some sweet flavored crepes. I definitely recommend giving this place a try.
