Went there on a Friday night with friends. It is really easy to get to and the area isn’t crazy busy like Power & Light. The atmosphere was great. All of us tried something different and it was all very good. The drink menu has a lot of options and everything I tried was delicious. Capped the night off with a nice Tawny Port. We will go back again soon.

I’ve never left a google review before, but after my experience at Voltaire KC I felt obligated. We were a table of 4, the restaurant was about 1/3 full of guests, and we waited 34 minutes for our bar drinks, one was a beer, the other a classic cocktail. I wasn’t timing the experience but I looked at my watch when the waitress took our drink order, because I needed to check in online for an airline boarding pass. Drinks came 34 minutes later. No apologies. No offer to make it right. Our food was ok, nothing spectacular, but seemed high priced for what we received. We started with an order of pomme frites ($12) for nibbling and the aioli dip was the star of the entire meal. Given that we spent $166 for 2 people, (starter fries, one order of dumplings and a salmon entree, one beer and one cocktail) we left with that feeling like there’s no need to go back. The interior of the restaurant is lovely and has that vintage feel I love. I wanted to enjoy our date night but the service and food fell way short of our basic expectations. I’m not a whiner or a let me talk to the manager person, instead of causing a scene with the other couple, I vented on the drive home and wrote the review here.

Went for brunch. Food and drinks were good, though my eggs benedict and potatoes were barely warm. Service was friendly. Prices were on par with similar places. Atmosphere is nice. Beautiful historic building.

Atmosphere is 10/10. You can hear yourself think but it’s busy enough that the “vibe” is there. Didn’t have the greatest experience with my first plate but the waitress was incredible that she offered to replace my entire meal with another one. AMAZING staff and atmosphere. And GREAT gnocchi pork shoulder dish.

This place is a joke. They took our reservation days in advance and texted me the day before to confirm our booking, only for us to show up on the night to find the restaurant completely closed. This was a place my mom had been looking forward to trying and wanted to take me to before I flew home. On the plus side, there are several other great places nearby who were more than willing to accommodate us on short notice. We ended up at Novel - which was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend - a special shout out goes to the Fox and Pearl who, while they initially had no availability, called back within 5 minutes to offer us a table. Voltaire didn’t even answer our phone calls while we were sitting outside their restaurant to inquire about our reservation. We drove ages in fairly poor conditions to come for dinner and were left stranded. We felt completely let down and have no desire to ever try this place again.

Room 39 has excellent entrées on their menu. You could make your choice as light or as hefty as you prefer. I love their liver and mushroom gnocchi so much!! My daughter was in love with her breakfast potatoes 🥔
